Default missed a gear and the head gasket blew..

was racin a car yesterday and missed a gear , then saw white smoke come out the back, is it just coinsadince? got the head off and you can see a very little gap in the felpro head gasket were its gone , its about 3 year old and the head has been skimmed..

if you look at the top just over to the left you can see the tiny tear

so , is it felpro or ford guys?

ok guys heres the update, first it will be new ford gasket as the pic above shoes the felpro failed just on the edge to let water in no damage to anything , but something very strange the last time i had this head off was 3 years ago and i timed it all up again, now at some time the valves has just kissed the top of 3 pistons but that must of been 3 years ago ,and its been running fine, have a look at the pics..

and whats this funny colour on the turbo?

I run a £16 (yes £16) 'standard' gasket bought from someone like Amber Performance or Woodford ages ago, and have done for at least 3000 miles/6 months (many on track) - on a stage 3 / 320bhp Cos with no problems so far.

I used to have £150 Cometic ones, but knackered 2 thinking I had gasket issues, when it turned out the head had a hairline crack in it

Couldn't afford a 3rd Cometic one, as that had been fine for 10k miles, so bought the cheap one and it's still going strong (although I do have a fingers and toes crossed most of the time )

I have similar marks to your on my piston tops, but the car still runs so I'm not too worried about it!

Get the head skimmed (if it still has meat on it!) and get the best gasket you can afford back on there and get back on the road!!

Apologies for lack of technical advice / firm evidence / hard fact!!!
