Speaker in a 3dr Cos - Speaker Pods Finished
Where to put them?
Kick well's are too shallow.
What do the speakers sound like under the dash, anyone put some nice speakers in there? Sounds good or shit?
Dont want to fit my focal setup in the dash if its going to sound shit.
Rear parcel shelf supports is not an option.
Cheers

Are Focal speakers good then Ryan? I have a load of them in the garage and i thought they were cheap shit
I thought your car was based on a touring car so why the stereo stuff? Just ripped all mine out as well as the entire interior and anything else not essential

jules, yes, Focal are shit, sell me them cheap.
Seriosuly there awesome speakers.
Only having headunit and front components, want a bit of music now and then
If i was going stripped out touring car, it would be caged by now
going semi stripped

yeah that would be cool, did look at the kick panels but they looked very shallow so the builds would be quite deep but ideally thats what i want to do.
No pics then stretch?
Rob popped down for his loom earlier.

Pedal clearance is obviously a bit closer but it's not a problem as i still manage with my size 12's and actually comes in handy on long journey's as i rest my foot on grill

Sorry mate i havent got any pics.
Just cut ring same size as speaker. Then space out from original kickpanel with other mdf scraps to desired location direction then hot glue in place.Stretch cloth over all this and soak in resin.Basic shape is now there.Just needs strengthening with fibreglass etc.And hole cut out for speaker.
Any problems pm me.

The sound IMO is excellent mate i tried different locations with tweeter as it sounded the best here as the sound hits your ears at the same time.It is all in the direction Next time you at a show pop over for a demo. Will have my best 80's album ready.

I would recommend what 3drstretch has done. Assuming you are going for 2-way components, I would have an angled kick panel build for the mid bass. However, for SQ, I would mount the tweeter higher.

Here's some pictures, only at stg 1 at the moment, lots of filling and sanding to do, and also need to install the tweaters but you get the idea.
Rather impressed myself

stg 2 is now complete.
Filler is now drying.
The sand that down and install the tweaters.
Job Done.
Just need to find some nice grey accoustic carpet.

deffo be worth the hassle, not letting Ł200+ speakers go to waste.
Will only take 2 days of work from start to finish for the pods, and lot of that time is waiting for things to dry, i.e fibreglass, foam, glue, filler etc etc.
Will look proper cool when installed
