if ya want ya car running , get a mk6 box
he's already said he has a good S1 box sitting there tho...

I don't know if you care a shit, but when there's much snow in the winter, the lsd box drives so much better and you never get stuck.
Moving a S1 lsd to the mk6 escort box is tricky again because the number of crown wheel bolts don't match and are a pain in the arse to redrill and tap.
Also like said, a proper torsen differential is a whole different ball game.

bi9bal, thanks for yuor comments. already bought a box for 60 quid from redcorn .

i do have an s1 box and the one in there at the moment is on the way out but still working. if u had the choice a standard s1 box or diesel box which would u pick?

my car is not driven every day and im not a hard driver as so to speak . only when necessary!

Whats the point of fitting a box thats on its way out??
In this case i would use the diesel box!

In that case, gotta put the S1 box in if you have one.... If not the second choice would be the Diesel.....Then a MTX75 if ya got the balls

cheers guys

will have a look at both gearboxes on sunday and decide which one to use depending on condition of the s1 box i got lying around.
