Today is the day.............
That I officially become a non-smoker 
Ive got past lunchtime which is always a killer for me, I figure making it to bedtime tonight is the biggest challenge for me personally, once I get there it should give me enough motivation to keep going.
I figure the more people I tell, the more people i'll feel like im letting down if I start again.
Couldn't have chosen a worse time to do it as im also in the middle of a whole lifestyle change thing, been on some bizzare cereal, fruit and nuts diet for the last week and feel rotten as i havn't had anywhere near as many carbs as I should have.
Strange thing is at this moment in time i'd rather have some bread or chocolate than a cigarette

yeah good luck, first two weeks they reckon is the hardest, i've given up abput 20 times lol so don't end up being a looser like me ha ha!!

Smoking is a disgusting habit, Matt and I both used to smoke but gave up together when we decided to try for our first baby 
And i think theres nothing more unattractive than a female with a fag in her hand!

Cheers for the support guys, Keith I actually have half a pack sat in my kitchen you're welcome to have them hun.
I should add that my best friend has also quit today, she has used that famous book (cant remember the name). She works in the same building as me and we normally pop outside for a fag together around 10am and 3pm and always go to lunch together and have a puff, so we knew we would have to both do it at the same time or it would be too much pressure on the other person not to start again.
We're going for a walk round the lake tonight to take our minds off it I dont know what has shocked the girls at work more, seeing me eat healthy food and refusing choccie biscuits or seeing me quit smoking lol

the book is by Allan Carr called the The Easy Way to Stop Smoking.
Im have tried to stop but keep caving in at the last minute. Dont smoke ciggies tho - strictly green only.
Gonna have to dig the book out and read it through to the end this time.

Good Luck, i quit 2 and a half years ago now, best thing i EVER did, it's a discusting habit...it nocks me sick now to think of inhaling one
It's very hard.....i put on alot of weight when i quit as i started to eat alot more, but i would rather be abit over weight than smoke anyday
So that's my next challenge, to lose the weight i put on when i quit....ive been trying for 2 years LOL

Thanks Nic, the weight thing was the main thing stopping me from quitting.
But ive started to pork out a bit before ive even quit so thats why ive gone for the whole lifestyle change thing, different foods and light exercise, hopefully if I can stick to all of it as a routine for the first couple of months then i'll be over the worst and hopefully also be in a better frame of mind from the exercise and healthier food, just gotta be tough on myself

I don't smoke very much though so i suppose it aint too bad.....

but stick at it you CAN do it beleive me i quit in january after smoking 30 a day for nearly 15 years just keep thinking you can do it and you will
