iain you get what i mean dont ya, there was a post about how much a 3 door is worth and all these people slap 9k on it as its mint blah blah blah

but ive yet to see one sell for that, sassy still has hers and tiff as his still

both no 9k either

are people just saying there worth more to get more when they sell there own one or is it just dreamers with no cash saying they would pay that when what the reality is they would never buy it but wanna sound like they would spend the cash

But as tiff said its what people are willing to pay, infortunatly its a bad time to sell any car at the mo, car sales are very slow

Put it this way i wouldn't sell mine for less 12k and it's well sorted you would never build it for that

3drs and Rs 500 's in very good condtion fetch good money

you can buy some 3drs for 5k and under but they will be fooked simple as really

i will wait to see the breaking section when you come to sell

As said people seem to want STD unmodified cars...makes sense i guess less likely to be a pile of wank

im lost how people thing that car sales are slow cause theres aint sold

its summer, theres no beter time to sell a car, they aint gonna fetch the cash in the winter are they

no offence but if people are not buying em there either not wanting one, not willing to pay the price or they are buying em else where

now im not knocking the prices of anyones car here at all, please note that

tiffs car is a good decent spec for a cossie, sassy's is cheeper but its alot slower and anyone who buys it is gonna have make it quiker anyway imo meaning more cash to be spent unless there a window licker then fook knows

im just thinking that maybe we are looking at 3 doors with our blinkers on as ford aint offering things for people to follow a marque like a 200sx or a skyline where there still making big cars that have more options and drive nicer ect

just wondering as 9k for a 3 door is alot of cash

You may get lucky and when u wanna sell yours someone comes along wanting a similar spec car.

but the chances are when u wanna sell your fully loaded 3 door some 1 will want a standard one.

and if u have a standard one for sale people will be looking for high spec beasts!

Its this thing called sods law, it gets us all!

tiff the problem i found with cossies is tbh even buying one for 12k, dont mean iuts not gonna die and cost 3k for a engine

hence why i would look different against it as 9k and ya miss a gear or worse and ya got a 9k orniment that requires 3k to be repaired min

hope ya understand how i see it

marco i do agree with what ya saying but forget what it costs, if ya sell it and nobody wants to pay the cash then ya either hold out or lower the price

i payed 4 for my cossie, not the best people keep saying but tbh the spec of it i can get me cash back or not far from in bits so for me it wasnt a bad deal

in hind sight i might not have bought the cossie and should have bought a 200sx with aircon and sports cars looks, not a ford sierra from the 80's with all problems that come from a old car

Phil

lets put it this way i look after my car even tho i trash the living tits out of it even if you was to look at it closely you would never think that it was ever on track the car is still invery good contion

new engine re build

gearbox and diff nothing wrong with the diff it's just that i thought while the engine was getting re built ,i would have the gearbox and diff checked over nothing wrong with that i maintain my car to the highest standard what i can afford at the time

some peeps are not like you that just driven them in to the ground and when you come to sell them you say oh yes mate it's mint

I must admit, when i was looking for a 3DR i wanted a standard one, and that is what i got. Even had the OE pipe on it and had never been chipped.

cowboi i think its more to do with the cossie harsh circle that comes with em, buy one, enjoy it,m then it breaks, turns out minor, loive it again and again it brakes, the ya love it again, some people sell up in time and the next owner gets the ned of the bad luck and the bill or the you get the bill as ya kept it too long

fault finding on a cossie is down to experience and findign a good mechanic

fault finding on a nissan is a computer and tells ya what it is

bal

no offence , but saff's are cheap as chips , still good cars but peeps buy the 3dr's for it's looks thats why they hold their money not because they are a better car

the saff is better build than the 3dr tobe honest but it hasn't got a patch on looks to a 3dr

We had ours up for £8,250 and prob would have taken £8k when it was 350bhp, I gotta be honest here Bal i think that what you are saying is unfair, car sales are VERY slow as most traders will tell you, A friend of Ours own his own Audi dealership and he said sales are extremly slow this year as did our mate andy who's dad who owns a scoob dealership.

We had a fella view the 3dr lastnight, he was really interested seemed to know his stuff on the phone, matt went to meet him with Rob (diamonds), and the fella tryed telling matt that all cossie are fwd????I mean wtf, all we get is timewasters, I'd rather not sell the car than give it to a twat like that!!!!!

I was saying to matt the other day im not that bothered if i sell now, shes been tuned and rollered and is doing a strong 266bhp, im happy with that!

But we'll see

yeah bit marco they dont seem to be shifting for some reason and being a man whos done sales the only reason is either no body wants em or they are just too mch, either way no fooker seems to spend the 9k on em, lots of people WOULD pay it but nobody hasnt yet

when i was looking for one before i bought my first i had up to 6k, and i could not find one car that didnt have something wrong with it, either reshelled, fooked gearbox, needed welding, on the HPI list, there was always something. i ended up
buying an HPI clear one for 4k knowing id have to spend alot of cash on it, didnt end up doing so as i bought my mates instead.

if i go to buy a standard 3dr again, i would be looking to buy something like boxxers @ 9-9.5k than waste months looking for a really nice one for 6k as 9 times
out of 10 theres something wrong with it.

im sure if you ask pete@rs or north yorks spares they will have sold nice 3drs for 9k or thereabouts.

I know what your saying mate but lets be honest here , if you had the money what would you buy a saff or a 3dr for the same price , you would be the 3dr no questions

I think a car is worth as much as somebody is willing to pay for it... A good, solid genuine car will fetch the money....

I know its not in the same league, but my old man sold his old MG Montego (shudder) turbo last year.. it was a one owner from new, mint example with 19k on the clock from a 1987 D plate! And lets face it who the Fuck wants a montego? But he got £4950 for it!!

Ginge the car sales world extends beyond Passion Ford you know and just because certain cars havn't sold off here yet doesn't mean there arn't buyers for them out there somewhere!

turbonutter explained it best, if you think you car is worth 100K yet the best offer you ever get is 2K ?, in reality your car is worth 2K cos thats all its ever going to sell for.... one problem i do find with cars over 3K is that people want either part ex or finance, most cossie owners want a straight cash sale. cheers nomad ps prefer sapp cos myself over any 3 door , loads of people say sapps wil never be collectors items , i think thats where peeps should invest because a cosworth is a cosworth at the end of the day

I paid £8.9k for my 3dr 2 years ago
Also paid 8k for the S1 7 years ago.

I dont even bother with the cheaper stuff as a rule as it always costs more in the long run
