My Dad used to make Nukes for a living! Whenever you see the early footage of Nukes being made on the news, they show my old man.He loves it!He's allright now, but he has 3 heads.

aye thats real, seen it before on a nuke documentary... iirc its a few times more powerful than what the sdropped on hiroshima etc.

infact, the jap bombs were PANSY compared to what theyve got now... that barely managed to take out a city... if something was used nowadays it would take out the south of england!

 

Well the Japan ones at the end of WWII were 5 kilo tonne.

The ones they were testing at the end of the Cold War were more than 100 mega tonnes, 20,000 times more powerful. So powerful in-fact they could change whole weather patters.

 

althou I may add, they never actually fully detonated a 100mt bomb, but they did detonate one at half yeald.

France. Do you remember what the answer was when a journalist (from an area near to the test site) asked how they would feel if it was being tested on their doorstep?

 

Actually, i have read it was the UK who made the biggest A bomb, it was detonated to pass it of as a H bomb incase H bomb testing failed. But obviously the H bomb worked it was just a back up to pass it of as one.

I dont think they'll be another World War. We are entering the last conflicts I think. It will be terrorism related. As you cant just invade a country or bomb them into submission if they live amongst you.

As soon as Al Queda ,or the group that supercede them, aquire a Nuclear weapon. We all die

 

Of course it is , its whole point is to destroy EVERYTHING on a massive scale .

It wouldnt be as bad if it was just the initial blast of the bomb , but then you have the fallout which kills eveything that survived and it takes YEARS to recover from affecting generations long after .

Nukes and nuclear power scare me more than anything else.

I went on a visit to a nuke power station once and I freaked out!!

 

But the worlds had wars since WW2

Vietnam , Falklands , both IRAQ wars , not to mention all the little ones .

IMO nothing good has EVER come of the invention , Im only thankful that some raving dictator hasnt got their hands on one and sucessfully armed and deployed one .

Hell even the Worlds Superpowers realise nothing good can come of having nuclear arms and have/are disarmed/disarming them

Id rather have 10 WW2s than one Nuclear war , because at least when buildings are destroyed they can be rebuilt again and 5 years later you wouldnt even know what happened .

Bomb a city with a nuclear bomb and you can forget about that area for the next 50-60 years before it could be even considered safe to inhabit again maybe a lot more as Im basing that on Nagasaki and Hiroshima

 

Yeah i know theres been Wars, but there (I hope to go not) will never be another World War due to it enevitably leading to the end of man Kind.

Nukes are scary shit, lets just hope fook Osama doesnt get his hand on one, or even anythinf radio active as imagine a dirty bomb in London! Cheical bombs are just as bad imo.
