Ring...my epic lap
I was just sorting out some old photo's and came across these....the EPIC lap at Nurburgring, September 2004.
Now I always went round 4 up as it helps to stabilise the car, and with 303 bhp, not exactly an animal.
This lap was not my fastest, or 'cleanest' but was my most memorable.
After dicing with a tuned Porsche GT3 in yellow, on my previous lap I decided o have another bash. Unfortunately it was the wrong one and it had lost me by the 3rd bend
I carried on and to my delight I noticed another GT3 approaching, being driven by Garath Lloyd I din't want to ruin his lap, so after pacing him for 8 or so bends, he got bored and blew my doors off, closley followed (as usual by Rainbird from the rear) and Jon Felstead.
Perfect now we had a trio of Porsche, Nissan and Ford, Rear engined RWD, front engined RWD and 4wd.
I was trying to keep up, but we were all taking different lines into the bends it was awesome. I stayed with John for over half a lap, until I was interferred with by the 2 fast and furious boys.
Have a look at t e pictures, they'll a little blurred, but we didn't exactly hang around!!!
Enjoy my epic lap;

They didn't make a 993 GT3.... and if you confuse a 993 and a 996 you must have some shit in your eyes.
Good pics though
Also Mike, the RSR is a bit of a funny one as well as officially it doesn't exist according to most experts. Porsche UK made up the name and stuck it on Clubsport versions of the RS to try to sell some more cars It was not an official factory designation. Thats a SUPER geeky point though and I did know exactly what you meant

I'm sure he'll appreciate his "Fast and Furious" tag
