i personally think some form of a ford competition would be good .. i would turn up dingly .. then brake down and go home as would most of the others

could have variations like...
totb oil consumption...
totb fuel consumption...
totb bulliten board arguments
totb breakdowns on the way to shows

at least we might win some of them

Actually Totb & then the Supercar Topspeed event will be my last 2 events before i stop competing so no need to ban me . Think its a good idea but its been tried before & most turn up & expect badly set-up cars to perform, these events take a lot of effort & testing for instance will be testing at Brunters soon & will be trying to destroy my clutch to see how much abuse it can be given before failing & then fitting a new one for totb, its an expensive game if you want to be competative.

still awaiting news on steve scott , emailed mike tonight to find out. hopefully his car will still be there, must stand a good chance of the overall champion spot.

btw for the person who asked about the home built 11s fwd car, its not a golf!
its red, wears an MG badge and will be competing on the day this year

Hi mate

yes we can ,but we want to field 10 cars which are 500+ bhp and above

so if you have got 400bhp and less your car is a waste of time basically

"what happens is" the guys that have got the big bhp cossies say their going then either they don't pay or the cars are not ready in time or they have broken down in the mean time

because theres no back up thats why we don't have a team ..

if i'm honest a 400 bhp 4wd wouldn't be any good aginst say a 700bhp Skyline Gtr

so thats the main reason why we want the big power cossies there

Surely its not all about ultimate performance or we may all as well go and buy one of those fookin twin motorbike engined 500kg plastic roller skates that other people call cars Get some cars with a bit of heritage to totb and not just a load of mobile Nintendo's, yank barge gas guzzlers , and assorted shonky fwd sheds

when i asked Mike this last yr about performance he said anything less than 500bhp wasn't good enough and mainly because of the skyline boys

I qualified @ the cossie qualifers in finished 9th out of 11 cars which were all over 500bhp and wasted told that i was in the team

so i thought that i wasn't in ,it was only when Rod told me that i was in that i knew about it but was a bit too late so i thought fook it never again

i'll just stick to my track days better fun

Seems to be a lot of indecision and moving of goal posts in the cossie team selection to me just as there has been for the last 3 years Marco!
I see you said earlier that Rod is always up for it and gets his car ready in time but i think you will find Rod has so far done just TOTB 1 and not 2 or 3! Not knocking Rod as he does as he chooses like the rest of us but just putting you straight Marco!
I dropped out last year near to the event as i just couldn't seem to feel enthused by it as i was the previous year

well he built it himself, at home, in his back garage, and then mapped it himself, on the road and on hired rollers, so i'd say it counts as home grown!

and yes his best on road tyres is 11.8s which is still awesome for fwd.

But 10 entries would be better to watch, and provide more for spectators.

Dont forget, there are 3 categories. A lower powered car may still do ok in the 1/4, do very well in the handling, and ok on the top speed.

Still worth entering, if the owner/driver wants to.

My biggest moan about the event, is most entries are not road cars. They may have MOT's etc, but that doesnt mean they are road legal.

A lot of cars are post 92. How many still run cats ? WRC cars etc still do, as they have to be road legal, so should road legal entries.

An emissions test in scrutineering would sort a few of them out lol with them having to pass a test applicable to year of manufacture.

IMO, all cars should be driven to and from the event, carry full seating arrangement+glass as it left teh factory, use normal pump fuel only, and whatever tyres they start the event on, they must finish all 3 categories using them.
Some exceptions to the trim could be made for fitments of cages etc.

I'd like to see some of the guys on Mickey Thompson ET Street drag tyres doing the handling track lol

The event is all about money, but hopefully there will still be a few true road cars there that will do good times, and get recognition for it.

Any car that arrives on a trailer, should be excluded from the event IMO.

FFS will people PLEASE learn to read . How can you blame the organisers for people's inability to send their money off in time . Once the deadline is past, the spaces for the Cossie team is then opened up to others waiting in the sidelines and so the spaces go IMMEDIATELY. However, EVERY year, we have been allocated TEN spaces - this year, we even had problems getting ten cars to the qualifying . And if you look at the requirements there are NO bhp limits, it is down to achieved / achievable TIMES . So PLEASE learn to read before posting FFS, or are you all really THAT stupid ?

spot on there, its not TOTB's fault that people fail to come up with the goods in time.

the qualifying standard set for the cossies 4wd was "The performance figures required are:4x4s - 11s (or less) quarters, 170+mph top speed in 1.25 miles and good handling. "
