Just bought a dedicated track car....
....to challenge the mighty Metro on track .
1.8 16v, Magenta-ish colour. Gonna strip it out and go door-handle bashing with Martoon .
Will be appearing in the projects section in a few weeks time .

Nope . I had so much fun in the Metro that I think this is the way forward. Completely stripped, plexi-glass and slicks, as it only has 137bhp, but a sweet chassis, it will need to have a weight advantage to be an even match against the Metro. Plus it cost peanuts and me and Charlie are doing it together, so that halves the costs .

i prefer the phase 1 Clio valvers
Mike - hope it hasnt got a sunroof cos you'll end up with dents in the roof by the corners of the sunroof i love mine tho, handles like a go kart on coilovers if you find a cheap F7R bottom end from a megane or clio williams buy it, well worthy improvement in performance!!

Cool Mike, fair play!!!!
Don't forget about things like oil surge Mike, these front drive transverse engines don't like going round corners, especially with slicks on. There was a one make championship though so someone somewhere knows what works and what doesn't.
Have you ordered the hewland 6 speed sequential, like the Clio cup cars at Bedford, it would be a weapon then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think the Clio is the obvious choice, anything more manly would have put your raveing homosexual status at risk!!!

The idea is for it to be CHEAP, so the only mods will be new discs all round, braided hoses, Castrol SRF, Performance Friction carbon metallic pads, another set of standard wheels (for some slicks off Marco ), completely stripped, glass replaced with plexiglass, a couple of bucket seats and then to just rag the tits off it . It will NOT be replacing the Cossie on track, just supplementing it. Just need Sean and Lee to buy something similar for the "rubbing" to begin .

TBh most cheap 205's now are old nails with seized torsion bars, knackered drop links, all the bushes in need of replacements, hardly any ring seal left and with gearboxes as sloppy as a bowl of porridge.
So i can understand the logic in going from something newer, plus its got16 valves from the outset which a 205 hasnt unless you start messing around fitting an Mi16 lump and most of those are old and knackered now anyway.
I dont think the clio is too bad a buy really
