I only just realised that people cant test drive it if it aint taxed!

I've had people refuse to give me a tax disc when the insurance ran out on the day I wanted the tax disc and couldn't be arsed to have a go...
Legally however, the car IS insured up to the date/time of expiry so you should be able to get a tax disc and may have to argue the fact at the Post Office. I am not aware of any lawful requirements other than you must have insurance.
Good luck

your insurance need to be valid past the date that your current tax expires in order to re tax the car, in other words you must have valid insurance cover when the start date of your tax is to come into effect
same with the mot

From his post i suspect the car is already out of tax, so just needs to be valid insruance tomorrow, as he will be taxing it for July not august?
If it is august you are trying to tax it for though, tehy wont let you do that.
