Anyone know what is diffrent on a 4x4 sapp to a 2wd sapp boot lid all i know is the boot locks are diffrent 2wd has a push button type 4wd boot lock is flat.
will a 4x4 flat lock type work in a 2wd boot lid???

i cant see any difference between mine and cossienuts
grant has a new boot lid going on his and i dont think they have mentioned any problems to him. will let you know when he gets the car back

Bloody hell, I thought you lot were supposed to know stuff

The 2wd boot lid and 4x4 are different, as the cut out for the 4x4 lock is different shape to the 2wd. The good news is that you can modify the 2wd one to accept the 4x4 flat lock, as this is what I did on mine (as the 2wd lock has a propensity for sticking in the barrel, which means that sometime the central locking doesn't lock the boot if the push catch is not in it's fully extended (oh er
) position).
You can also retro fit the remote boot release and filler cap from a 4x4, as the 2wd shell even has the fittings beside the driver's seat to accept the release mechanism.

my boot lid has a slight rust spot where the spolier fits.and has a few marks on it so going to replace it with an brand new 2wd boot lid
