Default Are you allowed slicks at castle coombe?

Just bought myself 4 nice slicks and was just wondering whether I will be able to use them at castle coombe on 10th July? Am gonna have to do a bit of grinding though........17" slicks about 235 wide to fit on my SI..........

Cheers

Gary

your wasting your time fitting 235 slicks on your rst , you will get serious tyre roll as the slicks will be too wide for a 7"j or 7.5"j wheel

what profile are your slicks 61 or 62 ?

you will need 19/61-17 or 20/61-17 or 21/61/62-17 these should be fine

Most half decent (road legal) slicks are around the 62 - 65 height profile Stephen.

You can get high performance low profile tyres - but they give nowhere near the same performance as a proper tyre made especially for the job.

Trailer was fine...

The car is still to wide, but narrower wheels and tyres have sorted the loading problem...

The only thing thats wrong with the car at the moment is that I've blown the gearbox... a mere 100 years of low boost running, and you RST boys think you have transmission problems!!!!! But I am building a couple of new ones at the moment

Maybe I ought to go for a touch more power, that vvc engine sounds nice!

What date Martin?!!?

the ideal size for your application will be 200/580/15.

std fit was 195/50/15

195 width mm
50 % side wall height (576mm O/A diameter)
15 rim size

200 width mm
580 O/A rim diameter
15 rim size

240/610/17 will be 30mm greater diameter for a start plus you will need at least an 8" wide rim IMHO

Well try again Garry.... What width rims have you got ?

Last answer was 17" which was the height not width, as stated anything less than 8" is not looking good.

so basically any 610/620 profile will be fine with 190/200/210 don't go no wider than this because they will be too wide
