Default what E.T to get more clearance, increase or decrease

my weels dont fit as you know, i have just tried my mates focus rs wheels and they hit the caliper aswell only very slightly but they still hit, they are E.T. 42 so do i need to go higher et or lower et , they also hit the cup on the suspension by a mile

measure rim.

Take mid point thats zero

Sure you can work the rest....

42 is 42mm added to the centre that will pull the wheel in....so make it 35 and you have 7mm of ya wheel sticking out......

cheers , so if the frs wheel was maybe 3mm too far in does that mean i need to go for et39 etc etc

cheers dingy, but if the wheel sticks out more the tyre starts hitting the arch, ya know when ya get a lower offset is the wheel a different shape so the tyre doesnt stick out as it does when you just put a spacer on it? ie does it curve back on itself more?
