my mate some how managed to change one of my display settings

basically the windows task bar at the bottom has gone to the classic style which is square and grey

it was the new style which was blue and smooth

now im not that good with computers and i carnt seem to change it back

ive right clicked the task bar and display

and changed back to new style which i have

but not the taskbar everything is as it should bar the colours

now i know this may sound stupid but i hate it and want it back to normal

also in apperence on display it only shows window classic and not windows xp?

as my mates computer shows both

could this be my problem as it could have been deleted

any help much appriciated thanks

 

Right click on desktop (background bit with all the icons) click properties then click the appearance tab. then it is all in those 3 drop down menus/boxes


Sorry if i insulted your intelligence but you said you were rubbish wit pcs so wanted to ake sure you did understand it

I doubt if you can 'delete' the settings and I duno how you'd get it back if the 'windows xp' style isn't there!

ive search every where to try and find it but didly squat

ill have to kick my mates arse to get him to sort it out

as he did cancel a lot of programs which werent needed he said

Did he at any time put an XP disc into the PC?


Or you could just get used to the Windows 98 look, it's what I run as I prefer it for some reason!!

 

i did a remote assit with him as my pc was getting really slow

surprising as its only 128mb of ram and sum how still running with 168 used

so he was sorting some stuff out to make it faster for me

i dont like the old style as its so dated and used to 2000 mode

carnt wait for my new one to arrive im going to drop kick this down the street

if you cant find it that way! try doing a system restore back to the date when was ok.
