Exhaust Housing Swap??? Is it easy???

Default Exhaust Housing Swap??? Is it easy???

Is it just a case of removing the ring of bolts holding the centre section to the Exhaust Housing, removing it and then refitting the other one.

I would give it a try but cant afford fir bits to come flying out and get lost....

Anyone know?

Better still got any pics?

I've just had to take the housing off my T3 and the bolts were frozen in there a treat - i ended up having to carefully dremel the heads off!

You might be better off taking it to turbo dynamics or turbo technics - as they probably have a machine that will whip them out in 10 seconds.

No, ive got to do it myself.......£££

The bolts on mine are new so getting them out should be no problem.

So was it as easy as removing the bolts?

Any bits that will fall out?

nothing will fall out

To stop turbine contact with the housing just undo each bolt 1/4 of a turn at a time and you should be fine - keep making sure its not binding by spinning the turbine by hand.

Dont rush it, take your time and all will be well.

Ive now taken out the bolts (well only 2 as the rest touch parts of the centre section) but its still solid.

Any idea's?

Hence why you need to undo them 1/4 of a turn at a time - as these two should touch the oil return inlet/outlet are used to 'pry' off the core from the zorst housing.

If in doubt take it to a pro! better to spend £20 or so for them to do it than £400+ on a new turbo.
