Heater or header
If header no but a 4x4 one can be made to fit and these are still available

Spiky - surely it will start to bulge and eventually start leaking due to the uprated power.

Just get a bufty and dont clean it - just like mine

2wd tank no longer avab

1659805 4wd tank £21.39 +vat

you have to use a modd water hose as well 6553673 £42.45+vat

I've got one sat in the cupboard at home, all nice and clean. Ford told me I needed an extra hose with my one to make it fit my 4x4........... but they were talking out of their arse

or you can keep the 2wd water hoses and get an adapter made up



v old pic and crap quality but you get the idea

21.4mm od and 7.88mm id

Does/would this actually happen? I’m not quite sure why running a more powerful engine would overstress the radiator/cooling system header tank? Has it ever happened to anyone?

Didn’t Martin Hadland run a normal plastic header tank in his Escort?

i have seen quite a few start bulging due to the extra pressure - once over 300 bhp.

My old one had started to bulge and you could see it contract when you left the pressure out.
