JUST GOT PULLED OVER AGAIN & REG PLATES CONFISCATED

Ran, I don't mean to have a go at you, but,
W complain about the state of the police, people not paying car tax, etc... but when a system is in place to combat that kind of fraud in a consistent and cheap manner (so the cops can be on the beat rather than looking for car tax dodgers), and this system requires number plates to abide by a set of rules, it gets slated.
People know the rules and break them knowingly, what do you expect ? A big thank you from the coppers ?
I am sure that is some freeloader was to come on here saying he gets away with paying car tax cos his number plate is italicized or something, he'd get a right b****ing on here.
But because it's a mate, it's ok
I was stopped on the M-way in a friend's car because the car had trade plates, and the coppers wanted to check the car was taxed, etc... Sounds like rough treatment, but at the end of the day, I was glad that someone was actually taking time to check

Greg - i know what you're saying and actually do agree, but i have had the plate on the car for 3 years and live down the road from a police station and have NEVER had any grief about it until this little piggy came along - i reckon he likes Vauxhalls

Can you not sell the car to your mum (or a friend) for a pound ASAP then surly they couldn't put the car on a 'Q' plate?
Agree with RAB, this country sucks now!

You have to be reported to DVLA 3 times before they de register a car/bike etc , you would then have to buy another reg mark and assign and register it with DVLA .
However when it goes to court simply plead guilty claiming you had just attended an RS show and had simply forgotten to remove your show plates before using the car on the road .
Youll end up paying £30 costs and whatever fine they deem appropriate

You simply say you were at Croft RS show on Sunday displaying your car and simply failed to remember to return to your original road plates as you had to get back home sharpish

If you lose your plate, get this one (shouldn't require too much imagination...)
£250 from DVLA, I'm sure the police would love you for it. Shame its too new for the 3dr.
I'm surprised some farmer boy hasn't got it on his tractor.
Good luck
