****URGENT VIRUS PROBLEMS!!!***
Well I am guessing its a virus anyone else had the same problems?
- Whenever I log on to the internet another internet explorer window called "access" opens up and tries to load something but just stays an empty box
- All internet banking sites wont let me log on
- Scripting was uninstalled and windows installer was set to manual start up rather than auto
- I cant seem to install norton antivirus 2005 CD that I have just bought
- Task manager doesnt open, I get the icon on my taskbar, but that disappears when you try and click on it.
Using Windows XP Pro
If anyone can shed any light that would be excellent as I have tried loads of stuff including all the tech support documentation symantec sent me!

Reload scripting using this... http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en
Try viewing www.gmail.com , this is also a secure site. If this doesn't work either, then click on Start>Run and copy and paste the following link into the Run box:
regsvr32 softpub.dll
Try the secure sites again

Strangly when I open a command prompt the window just flashes up and then disappears (same as task manager)
can task manager be disabled / re-started from anywhere?

There is a utility called "WinsockFix" (freeware) that repairs this problem
