Cossie powered Fords WON Time Attack + Drifting at GT Battle
Had to start a new thread about this really as only jus remembered
Gareth Lloyd won the Time Attack in his Escort Cossie, but madly enough the winner of the drift comp was the Sierra Pickup truck powerd by a 2.9 24V
The driver was a 17y/o Irish lad too
Finally a bit of long missed glory for Cossies

Knew about Gareth, and Mike and the boys doing so well but can't beleive the Sierra P100 won the drift! Fookin fair play to him!
Showed all the 'proper' drift boys like Bret Castle (i think) etc who had mega cars for it, the P100 even had a rusty flatbed on the back!

Was a top day, was chuffed with my times seeing as I was severly underpowered compared to the big boys. Watching them launch off the line was awesome
If we had a bit more time, I think I could have knocked a couple more seconds off my time when it was dry.
Desperately need more power
Biggest tit of the day goes to the white scooby with the monster antilag. He was one of the first out after we got going and promptly binned it into the gravel on his first attempt causing another 20 minute hold up

Marco - You know the score there mate.
Heard all that shit about Gareth's Escort after TOTB I....oh but it didn't have interior...but it had slicks etc etc etc......whatta load of bollocks. Mostly people talking about things they know nothing about what so ever. Nothing stopping anyone else from using a stripped car, the escort met the criteria to run at the event didn't it?....Well then......LIVE WITH IT! LOL
I got a txt from Gareth earlier saying that the car wasn't running full boost. It would of gone 1-2 seconds even faster if the beast was running at 100% of it's potential.
At that note I would like to offer one of these babies to all of the jap car owners who were going on and on so much before the event
-> one for everyone please!
As for Sue Collins....

No idea of finals times yet, but the course was totally different in the finals compared to qualifying so wont be similar to above.
The Reyland Sierra was far quicker in the Finals due to its mental striaght line speed suiting the Finals Course
TBH its prob not a good comparison anyhow as Rents wasnt used to the car, and the susp etc wasnt set-up properly I dont think, I forget now.

Wish I had more laps when it was dryer as I could have got that down by another couple of seconds.
Saturday really showed me how much inexperience I have of driving a 'loose' car. My massive stage 1 power never breaks traction 99% of the time and 75% of saturday was in the wet. I was very paranoid about stuffing it so bottled it where the experts were drifting nicely
Roll on a dry Coombe
