Just downloading the multiplayer demo, no point buying the game if i'm not entirely happy with the online play
560MB for a demo, it has to be good! Can't wait to give it a go, the videos look fucking awesome!
If i'm pleased with what i see, i'll get a legit copy and i'll be well up for a PF match
Might have to rebuild my beast cos my spec won't cut it i don't think

why exactly are you comparing bf2 to ut2004?
either way it's a good game. need to upgrade my pc before i can play it properly. oh and find some time to play

my pc is- pentium 4 3.6 gig 800mhz fsb, abit fatalitly motherboard, 1 gig of ddr2 corsair pro ram, 300gig sata hard drive, audigy 2 pro sound card, BFG over-clocked from standard-cpu 370mhz 256mb ram running 1100mhz, 550 power supply and all the other good stuff, it pisses half life 2/doom 3 on all the ultimate settings, yet bf2 is still crap on it????? and the helicopters fly like fooking goodyear airships

will, tried it with no AA?
some games seem to run like SHIT with aa turned on, i think its coz theyre not 100% dx9 compatible...
i find if a game runs really shit on my pc, i turn off AA and all of a sudden its lightspeed
anyway, who needs AA in high resolutions? its not like you can make the thing look less pixelated if the screen is already as hi-res at it goes and the blurry effects it does make the picture look more shit imho.

AF, antiscopic filtering, its like trilinear filtering, only it doesnt just filter the mipmaps it blends em together a bit like morphing, so you dont get the effect of walking up to walls and it going BLUR-BLUR-BLUR-CLEAR it just looks perfect from all distances (obviously using lower sized textures at a distance, but you cant tell becaue theyre so small)

AA makes the jaggedy edges look less jagedy by kinda bluering them... used to be used when games ran at low resulutions to make it look less commodore 64ish... nowadays its hard to notice the effect when playing in high res but people still turn it up to the max serttings becasue they think that whacking all the slider bars up to max makes the game better if ever i use it i tend to keep it at a max of about 4x maybe 8x (gfx card does 16x)
AF makes stuff far away look blurry and makes it look really detailed up close... the computer applies a shit quality texture when stuff's far away to make it use less memory and make the game run faster, and swaps it for a beter detailed one when you get up close so it looks good... AF makes this change look invisible (in old games you could spot it a mile away!) i personally always use 8x if the game supports it, but even 2x or 4x is better than trilinear! (gfx card does 16x but pointless)
