I was told i had a cvh34 in my s2 but when i removed the dizzy it clearly reads "cvh37" on the end of the cam shaft!!!
Are they any good? Do they use the original timeing marks?
How do they run on?

I had one in my RST, not a very good Cam at all to be used on the road at all.
Its extreamly peaky and makes the car very sluggish below 4.5k
More suited to a track car where your up in the high revs all the time.
A new standard cam is the best in my opinion

yeah cvh37 requires double valve spings and they come in the cam kit i belive
power band from 3.5 to 4k up to 8k, cant belive you had one ryan
, what was the spec of ya old erst engine then
cheack the valve springs and see
but depending on the rest of the spec if its say 1.6 ported head and stage 3 t3 or below standard BRAND NEW cam or if above i prefer the cvh36, but thats a personal thing based on what i wanted when i got mine

do me a favour when ya decide ya wanna remove the cam can ya take the inlet manifold off and take a piccy of the heads ports for me as i really dont see a cvh37 being fitted to a standard head as the cam kit is more money than the cvh34/35/36 as its got the valve springs meaning its prob a ported head
also take a piccy if the turbo and tell me what the zorst housing hjas wrote on it as again its prob got a .48

Fook knows!!!
It will only run when you fully advance it???
I swapped it over to my mates rst cab and it does the same on his?
Tried his dizzy on mine, lined up the point on the dizzy to the point on the head and it runs fine, so im guessing my dizzy is fooked

standard cams are perfect for most aplications as most people tend to read fastford and then add parts like ya add black pudding to a breakfast
it needs to match the rest of the engine and also most important the driver using it
a t34 steel engined car is crap for posing off traffic lights but great for motorway/dual carriageway tearups
