Take window out, repair the rust, clean up the seal and put the window back in

Mr Manc, you make it sound so simple

I'd be concerned how much 'rust' comes away with the window.......and the only proper way to 'repair rust' (love that phrase, lol ) is to replace with new metal.

Hope you don't get too nasty a surprise.....

any decent mechanic will get it out, itsnot that tough but the few few attempts usually crack the screen

ya need some string and lay it round the window and pull is though to the oputside around to bring the seal out

DO NOT PUSH THE GLASS AS THEY DO CRACK AND YOU WILL SHOUT "BOLLOX !!!!"

good luck

im getting to the point when i think it might be cheaper to sell her as she is and buy a good one, as realy your looking at a full respray and then the engines got over 120.000 still goes very well but for how long? then your talkin alot of money to get the engine sorted with m.s.d or karl
this car was mint when i bought it over 6 years ago and cost me 6 and a half grand with only 2 owners but it looks like the end is near

The scuttle panel is the one which runs corner - corner on the windscreen at the bottom. the one whichthe wipers are located through.

ginge, you gotta disagree with everyone? gets a bit boring

Yes CORRECT you can buy a repair patch for either side. . but why not just replace the whole thing if youve gotta remove 90% of the same parts to replace it?
plus if the edge is rusty, the middle may well be too. . .

its cause the new suttle requires a skilled job to do amd make it look proper, mint was the edge and was plated and looked the bollocks, funny enough i disagreed with the guy who done it at first and said i wanted a new scuttle bit he said if it dont look proper no charge and would not do the scuttle either , it looks the tits and was a proper job

fitting new wings ect requires lining em up and sooo many people cant do that
