Default cheap throttle body alternative

hi guys.. im building a 2.0 zetec for my mk5b escort and was planning on using the complete omex set but that retails at about 2k.
does anybody have any ideas of a cheaper alternative.. i dont really want to use the std inlet system and really want aftermarket management.

Fudgeass (and a couple of others i know of) tried
GSXR 750 Bike T/Bs on their 2ltr zetecs mate got them
off E bay cheap. if you are handy in the engineering way
then you can make them go on, then a £600 quid Omex/emerald
ECU and loom set up... you can do it for less than £1000

however.. bike throttle bodies are not the ideal, as the
trumpets aint the greatest thing in the world(one of the crucial parts to get right). and they are 42mm t/bs too, so not quite as big as you might like?

fudges one was good, if it had been mapped properly before it got broken for spares im sure he would/might of seen 180 bhp from it (Very few other engine mods)

they will work pretty good though if ya get it right!

The throttle plate on GSXR750 bodies is around 46mm dia and there is a fair amount of material in the body to blend out to match port shapes.
I picked up a set for £80 and spent a lot of hours to fit them on a 2.3 Galaxy engine.

It made 216 bhp on Power engineerings rollers using Emerald managment.

Was RS2000 then RS2300
Jason (the chap I sold it to)blew it up chasing a Porche with the needle well off the speedo. Turns out stock pistons can't handle over 200 bhp for long periods and one died through Det.
He is rebuilding it without the bodies, but with JE forged low comp pistons, Arrow steel rods, GT28 turbo etc etc. Should be cool when it's done.

Martin (MEFmotorsport) was selling some brand new ones for a Zetec a while back. Fair to say this was before he was an official Pf trader, and the post got deleted by a mod and never re instated Im sure he still has them.

So if a mod could find it in the sin bin (username then was MEF) then the price would be on it.... or you could PM or call him from the contact details sticky in the traders section.

The ST170 manifold is handy for TB and isn't that expensive from Fords either.
