Default pc cooling fans

i know a few people use them on there rads an to be honest my car is running so hot i will try anything, other than cutting my bumper...

just wondering where would be best to place them on the rad. top/bottom/middle?

and wireing them up. simple switch in cabin or wire in with the normal fan?!

I can't see them making the slightest difference.

Are you using a standard Ford rad fan? If so i'd replace that with a more efficient Kenlowe.

PC cooling fans are pretty small and flimsy! Sounds odd...

it cools down when moving! just gets really hot when sat still!

im useing a spal fan on the front of my (rather deep) radteck intercooler...i called radteck yesterday and they reckon its my rad thats playing up (addmitidly its old) but its just there aint no room to move the fan between rad and cooler not without removing the front of the bumper and that aint an option!

hence why i was looking into pc fans! i seen some cars with them there was a fiesta xr2 tubo in performance ford with them on.

Agreed, they won't make much differance to be honest, they haven't got the power to shift as much air as a kenlowe

How about one of these to relocate the turbo ----->

Then you can have a huge sucking fan on the back of the rad!!

Is your turbo still water cooled?

How about disconnecting the water to the turbo so your not cooking the water with the turbo?

P.S. i thought my first idea was a dam good one

no turbo aint water cooled......hasnt been since rebuild...i thought that alone would be the end of my heating probs!

its just a simple case that my spal fan cant do its job alone...the pc fans will only be helping it and they will fit between the rad and intercooler.....only need to help not go it alone.i mean they keep a cpu cool during major multi taskin!

well heres to the next idea!

How clean is your engine water?
Is it looking old and murky?

Might be worth taking the rad out and getting it cleaned. Or clean it yourself, i find a tin of Meck cleaner removes everything quickly, don't use it on rubber hoses though. You can buy it from pluming shops.

I wouldn't put an over heating car on the rollers mate.

Not only are you running the risk of serious engine damage, it will also be very hard to properly tune a car that doesn't hold a stable engine temperature.

I'd try and sort the temp problems before the rolling road setup.
