Why did it feel like that? There are no computer aids there at all.
I know there are no electronic aids. I am trying to describe what it felt like to me when I drove it. To me it felt like IT was doing all the work as everything was just so easy. In some ways I loved that but in others I didn't feel as rewarded as when I get a set of corners right in my own car.
Surely thats exactly the same as removing a wheel, fucking up the geometry, or driving without a steering wheel, would make getting a set of corners right much more rewarding than it is now on your own car?
i guess it's more of a challenge to put a wrong-wheel drive torque-steeering ERST through a corner than a subaru - as it's 4wd and has better technology? whether the driver contributes or not it's still always gonna be quicker than an erst

I know but i agree with all the above posts about rst's just gettin a bit long in the old tooth...

Minus the Jamsport and maybe 4 or 5 others all of the rest are no comparison to todays cheap performance cars.

I enjoyed the rs's and they are a good laugh but as im getting old i want comfort and stability..........

Go for the scoob and say bye to rattly fords.....

Viva la revolution

Go for the scoob, if your worried about running costs buy a UK model and tune it at your leisure.
Had two in the past now getting a bit common so i`ve got a S1 to cherish

Right so instead of actually having your own opinion on bmw drivers you are just slaging them cos someone slagged a few of your mates cars....Right makes a good argument....!!!

Westy , i still miss my S1 even now that have got escos . A lot of my mates have scoobys and they feel a lot quicker than my escos even though i have more power( sorted suspension ,etc on mine) been thinking of getting rid of the escos recently and turning jap but would prob get a lot of stick ( true what they say bout scooby owners though , don't seem to know as much about how things work as cossie owners and what is this thing about having a scoob remapped every time you open the bonnet!! lol

Mine was on the original engine, bolted on a larger turbo, different fuelpump, airfilter, exhaust and fitted a unichip and it saw 10.000 km of ABUSE and it coped with it no problems. Never drank a drop of oil, never smoked or rattled and it also did several highspeed runs on the autobahn as well as a couple of laps at the ring.

Funny how everyone goes on about the constant rebuild and choccie pistons...reminds me of the Scooby forum where they do the same about Cossies...and the VW forum where they bitch and moan about the Vauxhalls

and DONT grow your hair!
how many 17-19 year olds do you know that can actually afford to insure anything like that? try being 18 like me and see how many cars you can afford to buy/run
My sisters boyfriend is 18, the perfect age as u say for an RST, and he pays Ł3,000 insurance on it...

Like for like and pound for pound thats like someone paying Ł10,000 insurance for an escort cosworth, its just not justified, paying the same amount in insurance for the car

I have just bought an ERST and my insurace is still high, but not too high for it to be riducolous and i am 21 and female...

TBH i dont see how you can put an 'age limit' on a car??

I bought my S2 off a 50ish year old bloke...

CarlRsT's dad is 48 and he owns one... go figure

Ok, I'm being brave here as I'm a Scooby owner.

There is good and bad with all cars and the drivers so you can't really stereotype them.

I love my scoob and it's such a good car to drive. There seems to be a lot of myths on here regarding the scoob and personally I wouldn't be too worried about the cost of them etc, it's only if you drive them like a complete twat that they are going to go wrong (as with anything).

After seeing what they were getting time wise at Scooby Shoot Out the other week I'd say that they have come a long way in the few years that they have been about. Increasing numbers are getting 10 second 1/4 mile times and a top speed of 187 was recorded at scooby shoot out.

If you want to know more you could buy the Scooby Magazine that is out (shameless plug I know )

well, ive driven and owned various of the above and excluding fixing and reliabliity , if your just talkin about comparing the erst and a scoob, there is no comparison, a scoob wins on all levels, it wont be as fast as a good chipped rst but for the quality of the car and driving experiance the scoob is leagues ahead.
