Default whats the optimum coz compression ration

if you were buyin some new pistons how would you choose what c/r you want, you see all these different c/r 7:2:1 , 7:5:1 etc etc but what is the bets c/r, is it just the lower you go the more boost you can run? there must be an ideal road car c/r for greys , t38 etc what is it???

7-1 fooking ell nice drivability!

I am running 7.8-1...and you all know my spec!..Basically i want off boost drivability and with the cam timing right i think i may get pretty good driving

Strut the goodies i sent were for 7.9-1!...and i can say its a lovely conversion not be scared now!

7.5 would be a nice safe compression on a T38, i wouldnt go any lower than that personally, depends on how its mapped though of course.

Phil, i believe you will be using race fuel to get it to handle much boost on that compression probably, i certainly doubt you can run enough boost for 600bhp+ on normal fuel, but i guess with enough timing retard you might, very iefficent way of doing it though if you do that.

the compression ratio of my pistons have been specced by someone that ACTUALLY knows what they are doing and have tried and tested diff comp ratios for the spec of my engine.

our engines are tuned a bit diif to yours down south

thats all im saying

7-1 is old hat imo....mapping from proper pros has come on a long way since the touring car days!

I had that comp and i did not like the drivability...so took the Scandanavian approach!..Ok to make maximum bhp i gotta use rocket fuel.....but so what,as can you use 600plus on the road safely? ..NOPE so i got great drivability with the potensial on race fuel to make serious BHP...at a guess around 680bhp on my spec according to some!....Its estimated i will produce around 620bhp on Optimax.
