News to me, none of my XE's have tapped...as for being cheap lol new hydraulic lifters and/or cams cheap? Hmmmm
Still making stupid money though
only thing I could see wrong was the usual tapping noise from the top end until warmed up (As most of you will know a non-major cheap and easy problem to fix!).

yeah once they get old they start to tap a bit on startup....usually clears after 5 mins or so tho.
Get onto migweb and buy a whole cav gsi for that sorta dough mate....sell the rest of the bits on and keep the engine
