Thought the most powerful production car was the RS200 EVO to be honest...

Does anyone think this may have been released to help sales of the Focus ST? I bet there are a few people who were delaying buying one until more news of the RS came out.

Agree with Dingly for once in my life . Even the lowest spec RS200 was 250bhp and as for power-steering and ABS being "options" on an RS500 . Know-nothing journalists should be shot .

Also, wasn't the Escort Cosworth 227bhp? (or was that 227PS) ?

i wonder what they do with all these development vehicles. What a waste of money, development, effort and time.

On the bright side looks like the old cossie prices may go up.

If they made 5000 or 15000 i bet everyone would be snapped up instantly. Surely mass units out weighs production costs?

As a few have noticed, Auto Express etc. have about as much of a clue as my mum about stuff like this (their comments about the power and the ABS options etc compound this fact), and Ford are constantly pissed at them for their photoshopped, made up cover stories about the Focus RS' and Cosworths etc..... so, don't believe everything you read.

Its actually my dads subscription. We've had it for 7 years now, have to say 85%+ of the time they are spot on and i fear that they are right with this article too.

They are also very good at spy shots of new vehicles caught on road testing. We are just going to have to wait and see,but i fear that we will only see a ST Model in the new Focus.

If everyone moaning went down to the Ford dealership and put a deposit down for a Focus RS then they would bloody well make one!

Rouses where the one of the quickest RS cars out the showroom 260bhp 300lfb torque deffo the fastest cosworth.

How much bhp was the EVO 500bhp+??

As for the Focus RS it will happen just have to wait a long time

The new ST should be a very good car though could of got the RS badge

Now you guys know how we feel here in the states.

This is what we have to look forward to, no SVT Lighting or SVT/ST Focus, no idea when the new SVT Mustang Cobra will be released, don't even get me started on the fact that we never got any of the Cosworth cars

I predict Ford going out of business within the next decade.
