Default Cossie 4x4 ECT Sensor replacing

Can somebody tell me how I replace the ECT sensor on a 4x4 cossie, do i need the car up on ramps or can I get to it under the bonnet.

You can change it from above. Located close to the dipstick, under the black water hose coming out at far back of the block.

I had a quick look last night and cant even see the sensor so I guess its a bit of a bastard to get to. Am i going to have to remove the hose to get at it.

the blue 'un under the hose?
its not impossible to do with hose in 'situ fiddly to say the least

you need a trained ferrit and a detachable hand to do it easilly, i got on top of the engine beofr enow and stuck my head down inbetween teh turret and head, why they fitted it there and not at the front i dont know

Last time i did mine i did it from underneath i used a deep socket
but like said can be done from the top
