martin what torque did you do them up to?

as im putting mine back together tomorrow.

Found out why they were leaking.

The powdercoated around the inner egde has pickled and was causing air pockets around the bead of the rim.



All sorted now and all refurbished

Do split rims have some form of sill!? or gasket!?

Chip[ said the hweels he had were sealered on!

Dunno which mine r sealer or 'O' ring!

Can the 'O' rings b reused!? asuming they r undamaged!? or did u buy new 1s!?

Martin said you could buy new ones, but not sure if yours and mine would be the same to be honest.

Im sure there available.

if not sealer would do the trick.

Hopefully mine r sealer!

Ive told Nige when he splits em to go careful if it is a 'O' ring so i can re-use em! as Im sure he would be!

What sort of sealer u recon wuld b best to use!? I have emailed Comp to ask if they sale any!

i split a rim once, and i certainly didnt torque it, more like screwed the fucking arse off it

Tony Ryan uses some stuff he gets it like fookin concrete.

He uses it on his inlet manifold instead of gaskets.

Will find out what stuff it is.

I think i remember him saying it was just clear mastic sealer from the Autofactors
