Gutted for you mate, I still regret selling my s1 last year Seeing it drive off knowing i'd never see it again (the guy who bought it was from essex) was a weird feeling, especially as i spent ages tracking down a minter!

Alex would boo if his cab went nothing wrong with getting attached to a car! Alot of people are attached to there motors! I was more in love with my fez than my ex It gave me a frill driving in it, and it didn't moan and whinge and never let me down once

Nowt soppy about getting attached to your cars

You get very attached investing and working on them. When I was stripping the stuff from our old 2i I had a tear in my eye. It's heartbreaking seeing something you've worked so hard on turned to crap.

Im sorry I can't get emotionally attached to a lump of german metal and plastic. And Im sorry I cant see any point in being emotional over things that dont deserve it.

Im quite pragmatic nowadays. My first car was writen off. Annoying but no tears. The XR3i died, was stripped of value and turned into a cube. No tears.

Heres a example. If you were (heaven forbid) in a serious car crash. But you and your loved one(s) walked away uninjured but your car was destroyed. Would you be emotional about such a materialistic thing? Would you even cry about it? Lifes about priorities. And I would have thought that CossiesNuts would be looking foward to his house and new projects. I doubt he was forced to sell the car. And even if he was, he can see the benefit cant he?

Would you still fancy George Clooney/ Brad Pitt / whoever if everytime he got hurt he cried his eyes out?

i have good freind's a good family and a good wife but i still love my
car nothing wrong with that and would be very upset if it had to go

I'd still be very upset if i sold my car and i've only gotta little xr2i 1800 lol! if you have any passion about your car and work hard and spend lots to get them as you like, then you can't help but get a little attached and feel sad! It must be a lot harder when your not getting another car to get excited about like grant! I'm sure if he was getting something a lot better/nicer/or a car you've always wanted he would still be sad but not half as much!

I will be sorry to see the car go grant and not buzzing round southend anymore!

Theres a fundamental difference between having a passion for your car. Enjoying working on it, or driving it. Or running a 13.4 pass or 8:24 lap.

And crying when you sell it.

Maybe you're crying about all that money you sunk into a shonky 1980s relic and that you'll never see again. After all some of you seem to take more interest in what you have to show others, and how much it costs instead of whats really important in life.

Well i have lots of people to love in my life and i know i'm loved by them back!

I have also help lots of people and i'm sure and know lots of people on here grant being one of them that have helped other people! i.e i ran (bearing in mind i'm not a runner lol) 5k for cancer research this year!!




Doesn't stop me from loving my car! and no its not coz of the money i've spend on it, i've just spend a long time getting it to the way i like it and i ball it if i ever had to let it go!

I was asked twice yesterday by different people if I wanted to sell mine and one of the guys (who is a neighbours friend) gave me his number stating to ring him first when i do decide, but like you I will be proper gutted, hence why i havent rang him yet

i love my 4x4 saff, its comfy, roomy for our 2 kids & shopping, aircon in it is a bonus, its reliable & in very good condition, but in time i will sell it, i will probably be upset to see it go, but fook it onwards & upwards, i wouldn't cry about it, i've had my use from it, let someone else enjoy it.
