Front diff:

Gearbox:
Quaife or Fixit big tooth gearset (shot peened), 50Nm centre VC, around £3500.00+vat built
Rear diff:
Amazingly resilient, leave it alone, it might never fail. Deal with it if it does (fail)!

Sweet...
I went out in a standrad car the other day. If the box was made of chocolate I doubt it would break it..
Just concerned about the 300-350 mark as I tend to drop the clutch at 5k almost all the time

At 350bhp I would be inclined to leave everything standard, and wait to see what breaks first.
After all, whatever you break, and as a result choose to upgrade, then you'll be replacing with new bits anyway
A lot depends on how you drive, and I won't bore you with too much science, but avoid full throttle at maximum torque rpm whilst in 3rd gear. This'll prolong the life of your gearbox. Avoid drag-strip style launches, this will give your front diff a fighting chance

Bernie, just so that us 4x4 cossie owners know what we will need on our transmission shopping list before we build out mental engines, could you please list what parts and prices you would recommend for:
1. 350 - 400 bhp upgrade
2. 450 - 500bhp upgrade
3. 500+ upgrade
Many thanks!

Thanks Mike!
With all due respect Porkie, Bernie does not mention in this post that his transmission recommendations will handle more than 450bhp.
I just wanted a price on a transmission upgrade so I can plan my future engine rebuild and wanted myself and others to benefit from Bernie's answer.
I know, I know..... To ring Bernie would of been a quicker option.
Better get saving for the Reyland Skyline box conversion then!

Want to know what's included in the Fixit gearkit or the Quaife one.
Is it just the wheels or also the shafts etc...
What happens with the main input shaft from both?

See pictures on my website of the Fixit kit for an idea of what you get...

I have a fix it gear kit. It also comes with a all steel bearing, I think it was the input shaft bearing.
