Ł100,000 spent and no insurance on it!

They list all that interior and ICE but I somehow doubt it would come with the car as the fact it all burnt!

Naiive people bidding on it!

Fooking Ł7,500 for a burnt out heap, yeah right Be a pain to get that back nice too as you would have to make sure you got all that rust of the pannel and sorted it so doesnt come back under the new paint!

Hey you guys, I hate to disagree here, but look at some of the bits it has got. I haven't read it right through, but its got a high spec Engine and Geabox and complex Suspension Set-up, 22" Wheels and Tyres, lots of the Body Styling has survived.

Just because its not the cup-of-tea of most of us here, if someone is looking to Mod a similar car, that may be a was of saving money on some of the bits. I bet the wheels/tyres were around Ł3k new etc etc.

Just my thoughts!!!

Agreed there is a lot of pricey stuff on there.

The body styling is pretty much gone, it was all in one crafted out of steel. Although its still there chances are its unusable.

Wheels look ok bar a bif of smoke damage, the tyres look fooked but brakes seem ok. Suspension was hydrolics i think so i'm guessing thats fooked.

Engine was a monster but theres no seeing what damage was done to it by the fire, as it started internally it prolly escaped the worst of it but the bonnet tells it like it is.

I dunno about you, but I can see that being worth 7.5k in bits from what looks to be left.

Engine and transmission spec alone is gonna cost that.

Not to mention brakes, wheels, hydraulics, mos tof the bodywork is still intact, and so on.

Cracks me up everyone slagging it tho, looks better (before the fire damage) than ANY RST or Saff I ever seen, infact better than almost any bloody RS actually.
Wasnt exactly slow either with 400+bhp...

as said, brakes have got to be worth 2.5k, engine 4k easy, suspension 1k, wheels 2k, kit is probably 1k, gearbox 1.5k

list goes on.

I would say its worth 7k to the Vauxhall enthusiast.

I mean even if he doesnt use the kit, take everything off that and put it in a freshly paint car and you got an awesome package for the money.

To be fair I know Jettie quite well, he lives near me and he modded my first car. (I also watched the progress of the Astra being built) but I do have to say it is a little over the top!! But all people are different and have different taste......I still fink is WAS a nice car though when it was around!!

Sorry mate but I would be embarrased to drive that abomination. And it has nothing to do with blinkers as I actually quite like those Astra's and am very fond of several other marques of cars.

AND I QUOTE

" THIS CAR WAS VALUED AT JUST UNDER Ł200K AND WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY OF IT AS THE BUILD COST EXCELLED THIS VALUE BY A MILE.WE ESTIMATE THAT TO GET THIS CAR REPAIRED AND BACK ON THE ROAD WOULD COST AROUND THE Ł20-30K MARK AND WE CAN SUPPLY ALL THE CONTACTS YOU WOULD NEED TO DO THIS."

From the quote above theyre saying the car cost more than Ł200K to build

ok ask ya self this would ya dad look normal sitting in it

that car os the same as the capri with lambo doors , ya either love it or hate it

i think it looked crap before and now 7k for a burt out reck

the point of making it cost 100k to build is about as valid as selling the world trade center for the same price as it was standing, theres no reference unless ya buy a time machine

its not quite as bad as the people who sell there cars wrote off and advertise em as totally mint before accident, "never had a dot of rust, only rolled 34 times and got hit with a train, not ya usual crap"

i know alot of people loved it but its not in the curant fashion of ford owners and now its all about "track cars", people who fit a real cage, strip the car and then make 1 track day that year, motorsport wheels, full harnesses ect
