Default Has anyone used Godspeed for brakes??

Situation;

On 6th May, e-mailed to make sure that they had both kits i wanted in

355mm 4 pots
300mm rear disc kit

Both kits were on the shelf, ready to go.

Complicated bit, is i had to pay a member of this board by Cheque, and then he would pay the money onto Godspeed

Money totals best part for £1300.

Its been 3 weeks since the cheque was cashed, i've had numerous eta's of when they will arrive, and now, the story is that there lost in the post.

Now, the person i sent the money to, has replied to my every e-mail, and in response, passed the e-mail onto Godspeed (i have problems with e-mails being returned if i send straight to them)

There doesn't seem much urgency or interest that i havn't seen my brakes, which i find weird.

End of the day, are they always this slow, and should i be worried that the £1300 will dissapear without ever seeing anything???

Had exactly the same problems, lots of broken promises ended up waiting 6 weeks after the intial quote said approx 1 week from receipt of order.
i wouldnt have minded if i'd had some correspondence saying theres been a delay but just got greif.

Ian at godspeed seems a top bloke, I wouldn't worry about the money being safe, but keep trying to ring him as I have read on here before from the man himself how busy he is and not always able to get the phone!

I had some 330's from Ian, I sent the cheque and he said a week later they were done.

A few days later I called to say they had not arrived and he would look into it.

I think it took a week for them to arrive in the end, he said they had been miss-directed.

I was more worried about them being lost than him not sending them though.

I give him credit, he did answer ever time I called and was very helpfull.

I would advise you to get on the phone, have a chat and don't let this thread get into a slagging match. At the end of the day its only a phone call and a polite customer tends to have things done quicker than a rude one.

Maybe he just needs someone to man the office and deal with deliverys going out on time and customer queeries.

He is very slow in despatching goods. You pay the cash, get told delivery would be within 7 days of him receiving your money. My order took over 3 weeks to get delivered, I thought that they would never turn up, especially as he usually took 2 days to reply to an answerphone message.

He should say how long to expect goods, and really in this day and age is pulling the piss a bit expecting customers to pay upfront, full cost, when a deposit should do. Being honest from the outset would go a long way.

Ian @ Godspeed is not a feck merchant by any means ....

Lancia delta 6times wrc, why do you take every oppurtunity to knock Ian? You were offered your money back in full and still insist after all this time to fecking moan like an old woman every time someone mentions Ian's name ...give it a fecking rest!

just my 2p worth

Was their when Bruce did his Topspeed run ended with his Seals leaking,of course you heard nothing about it, Bruce got them fixed for nought. Much the same with mine leaky seals & paintwork damage to my car, was one of several to try to take him to court, but you cant prove anything. Had the same delays at the start when my brackets took 6 weeks to arrive. Theirs a company out their called AP mate, use them.

Used Godspeed for a 325mm front disc conversion on the cossie and all I can say is bear with the bloke he is a busy man and it will take you longer to get your brakes than an off the shelf kit but you will be well happy with the goods .

Ive heard this story so many times from people with regards to Godspeed. Hes been like it for years. I remember Wildhearts problems from the RSOC BB.

He'll never change, and although Ive had no need to use him. I never will.

But for some unknown reason the few that do get stuff from him, say hes great.

Hi Ian
If you read this thread can you price me up a set of std size 320mm rotors for an Evo7 (assuming you do them) I don’t need bells tho as they are to fit something else.

I"m Reading that Ian is a great fella but "Always Busy" If that's the Case IMHO then he shouldn't take orders until he is caught up or can gaurantee a delivery date especially if your handing over 1300 quid... The Check was cashed, the goods should be sent, yeah I know he was busy rallying, racing, spending your money... If you want a good, no Great Customer service, then make sure They are Happy First!

Thats well out of order, IMO if a person/company takes your money, be it 5p to whatever, they have a responsibility to deliver the goods, or keep you well informed of why you havn't recived them yet, why should you have to chase a PROFFESIONAL company time and time again? Send him a letter asking for a full refund within 7 working days, or you will take him to court Then take your £1300 and spend it on far,far better quality AP brakes , that are fully warrantied, and they are not going to mess you about should you have a fault. And just ask yourself, what do F1 cars, WRC cars, touring cars and just about any decent motorsport car run??? AP's or brembo's or another equaly well respected brand- Godspeed???? whoooooooooooo??
As with most things, you get what you pay for

I have met Ian and yes he is a nice bloke, disorganised yes dishonest no.He should learn to say he is to busy or give an accurate estimate of delivery,i know many people who have his brake conversions fitted on race cars rally cars and road cars without problem,of course he doesnt supply to F1 WRC etc he is ONE man on his own but he supplys plenty of privateer racers. As we arent supposed to be slagging people off on this board and by doing so are leaving ourselves open to libel action, i hope we wont see so many negative comments from people who dont know him.

I am sorry you have waited so long it is not acceptable i will try and get hold of him for you.

thats bollocks, how can hge be so busy he can find time to cash the cheque

sorry but he does know how busy he is, i recon hes telling people the 7 day time and otherwise most people would probably not bother to wait for the brakes
think about it 1300 quid is alot of money for being messed about, he is self employed then he should send the stuff out straight away, maybe even have most stuff of the shelf, if not he should work harder

when im busy in work i have to work longer to catch up otherwise i would be messing people about and im not self employed

my advice is get hold of him then decide what ya wanna do, if it was me and he still never had the brakes done by now i would want a refund, customer service aint about complian get mnessed about and then they sort it outm its about sorting it out before theres a issue

so what ua saying is ypu wpould be happy if ypu payed a builder to do work on ya house, he took the money and then ya couldnt get hold of him and he aint done the work

mmmmmmmmm bet ya would love him, what would you sugest if his excuse was hes out on rallys, hes busy, hes disorganised

its seems hes alot of things except actually sorting the brakes he has taken the money for

i sometimes cant get hold of bikes, i dont ignore the customer, i actually phone the customer to keep them aware of whats going on, they seem to prefer that

imagine tillio needed the brakes for a track day or somink, what whould he then do

stop thinking about hes a freind and hes a top guy, im not disputing that he IS well respected

what im saying is he dont give a shit about the customer as long as he gets the money off ya

thats what i like others will see who dont know him

if he wasnt a mate but for example me selling you the brakes and you had all this how would you feel, would having 15 customers saying, "yeah i had to wait but there top stuff i the end".

no he knows he aint gonna get it done in a week as hes done it before, just people are being ok about waiting, if people wasnt and he never got any money then he may sort ot out

oh and if hes so busy why dont he employ someone, hes abviously got more orders than he can make in time

sorry but to me that sucks as a customer, i would never deal with a guy thats had a repeated bad reputation

dot get me wrong though, he aoint lost me as a customer as i wasnt gonna buy brakes off him anyway, but others maybe

as fpr slating other compaines,,,,,,,,,,,,,, hes fucking the guy about, its only right that others know

this aint a dig at godspeed or you, this is just what i see and i think from what im seeing

i know hes done 3drstretch's brakes, hes very happy with em and no complaints and also done robs's brakes hes also happy with em too

1 question why are all the guys who never had to wat ive seen so far in wales ????

now that i dont understand, does he prefer to pos em to wales as its a nice place to post things on time to ??? ( genuine question and observation)

Good points well made matey,I think the majority of the welsh lads go straight to him which speeds things up.I still think his service in this case is unacceptable and its a story ive heard before, which is why i think he needs to learn to say how long it will take rather then telling everyone seven days. And maybe your right most of us wouldnt want to wait that long, though i order things from Japan and China and wait two months normally but at least i know up front.

as for working on sundays, he has too much work on he should not be taking orders, he should say like karl does and stu does

theres a wait of XXXXXXXXX ill book ya in and they wilkl be done for then
