I need something thats as cheap to insure as possible so I can keep my ins policy running so I don't lose my NCB or incur the "cancellation chrage"
Don't care if the thing don't even run - I won't be using it, jsut so long as it is well cheap to insure. Fezz 900cc or 1litre Metro don't matter....
Anyone got a piece of shit they wanna off load for free?

Jim - wtf?
If I cancell my policy my ins co will charge me about Ł750 and not give me my 4th year NCB.... If I had say, a 950cc Fiesta then I can swap the policy over to that and only pay peanuts for the rest of the year rather than the Ł500 I pay now for the 3i.... There for I get my NCB, and I don't get charged for cancelling...
Deano - I can only insure it for 3weeks after my name is taken off the log book - that gives me 6 weeks till I need to change the policy.
Also I don't want to keep paying the Ł50 a month it's costing for a car I don't own anymore, would rather pay virtually nuffing for a shitty tiny engine car that costs peanuts....

matt i dont think you understand what a "cancellation fee" is.
basically you have allready paid for 12 months insurance the difference is you paid for it on FINANCE
what they do is instead of refunding all the time you've got left (say for example its a 1200quid policy and you're 3 months in, so they SHOULD owe you 900quid)
they'll charge you say 30% of the refunded ammount (so you'd only get back say 600quid) ofcourse since this is on finance you'll never see a penny, and you'll just have to pay the rest of the finance (say 300quid in this scenario)
so you effectively just keep paying for another 3 months...
howeer if you swap your policy to another car theyll probably change your 1200quid policy to say 1000poilcy (you will get hardly any money back, they scam you good like this!), so you still got to pay about 600quid for the res of the year, which surprise surprise is MORE than the 300 quid it COULD have cost you
but anyway who cares coz you've still got that extra 1yr NCB the thing is it cost you 300fookin quid which is more than the discount you'd get with it
matt, on your PC goto start... run... then type CALC.EXE - now use this new found tool to work out just how much money you're wasting

AROFLOL - on the phone now with HIC asking about price difference f I swap my policy over to a Ł25 1.1 litre D reg Fez (mk2) and they guy comes back and says "yeah, they'll do it as a straight swap with no extra charge"
I said "too fucking right @ no extra charge"
Then told him I weren't prepared to pay the same for a Ł25 1.1 Fez as I currently am for an XR3i with about 100bhp more, worth (insured value) Ł1225 more with an engine thats got 500cc more Asked him if he was feeling all right

matt, just let the policy run out....
i let one of my sierras run on for a few months after i scrapped the car, they didnt hassle me, i just let it run out, then once i got my NCB bit of paper thru, i sent of the log book for the car, and filled it in scrapped
didnt tell the insurance co, why did i need too?
