Specialist Track Day Insurance - Super car cover?
Does anyone know of any Companies who will insure a car for a one off track day event? Only catch is, say the car is worth around £100k?
Are there any Companies who would offer cover for a car worth this much money?
Company names and telephone numbers would be mucho helpful

Cola, sent it over yesterday matey, sent it to colaandrews@hotmail.com did I get it right? It was for some kind of Field support reporting into MK. If you havn't recieved it drop me a text with a fax number and i'll send it over.
Tony, excellent thank you I will have a looksie at that site. What is "Competition Car Insurance " is that actually a Company name?
pmsl @ "what have I bought now", unfortunately I dont have a spare £100k so will only be 'borrowing' the car (if I can get some track cover )

I used Competition car insurance for the bedford day last november as it wasn't an RS day and I'm with Dominion. I basically insured the Shell to the value of £7k. Cost me £90 Whole car would have been £150
I think I may risk it on non RS events.

But when you add it to the price of entry it puts the cost to over £200 before you even roll onto the circuit. Mind you if we wanted a cheap hobby we'd be bird spotters

Im just toying with the idea at the moment guys, I can book out the SL55 any time I want it (for a small cost).
The reason I was looking into tracking it is because im booked on track at National Day and trying to decide what car to use, just sounded like fun!
We'll see, I change my mind like the wind so prob wont happen knowing me

ooooh cool Can you get the SL65 as well? I mean why fook about with the pony V8 job
Can you hire them out for close personal friends (who would obviously be willing to make it worth your while ) as well??
I really like the SL55 and 65 AMGs Great cars, although not my choice for the money I would happily borrow one for a weekend.
I'm going to Bedford this weekend (Motorsport sensation day ) and have to drive a DB9 home. Very very excited, I've not even seen one yet. Let alone drive one

I was at the France- England World cup Semi Final and I had BETTER seats than him He was in front of me and to the right.... Then it started raining and my seats were under cover whilst he got soaked
I took a piccy of him, hold on I'll dig it out.

Lee, as far as I am aware I can book pretty much any demo / press car I want to, its just a question of booking it on a date no one else already has it.
When you book for a weekend you have to take it for 4 days, the SL55 would cost me £25 per day + £20 valet charge, includes TP insurance and its the responsibilty of the driver to provide Comprehensive insurance but they dont ask for proof. Anyone wanting to drive the car has to give a copy of their licence in to our Transport dept upon collection of the car.
Rich, I have been toying with the idea of running the Roadster at National Day, the only thing is, its due off lease the weekend after............. depends if I damage it or not

DB9's you say?
Well the handbrakes on the wrong side. Seats are too squishy for my liking. (GT you see) And you can see the mastick holding the chrome trim that runs round the side windows on Panel Gaps arent special either.
Typical case of large stupid company taking over small great company and trying to cut costs.
Nice engine and sound good though.
Oh and why have 2 rear seats that only midgets with no legs can fit in Though to be fair Astons aren't the only people to do that
SL55's a great car though. Not built that well, but a great allrounder. Just blipping the throttle in N and you can feel the power Only ever looked at the 65s V12 TT engine (in a CL) plumbed in pretty tight!

Well, ive scrapped the idea of taking one on track at National Day because Transport have advised me both the SL55 & 65 AMG are being defleeted very shortly and will not be replaced.
There was however one weekend available on the SL65 AMG before it gets taken off the demo list, and thanks to the gentle persuation and generosity of a friend I have booked the car for the first weekend in July.
Im now quite scared! lol

Rich, never been in a 55 or a 65.... a Certain Mr Kenworthy was telling me about the time his derestricted SL65 SHIT ALL OVER his mates Enzo though
Over 1000lbft Torque... thats pretty grunty
I know the DB9 won't be perfect but it seems to be getting great reviews. My mate loves it already.
Clare read this "With 6.0 liters of displacement and twin turbochargers, the SL65's V12 engine is the most powerful production engine ever offered by the German automaker. Each engine is hand-built by a single specialist who then signs his name to the carbon-fiber engine cover. The aluminum V12 generates nearly twice the power of a standard Porsche 911 and slots the SL65 in the very exclusive club of 500-plus-hp production cars. With 604 horsepower and torque measuring an asphalt-wrinkling 738 pound-feet emanating from its twin-turbo V12 "
ITS STUPIDLY POWERFUL
Enjoy [/i]
