Backfire on gear change
Last week my car started missing really badly when i was dropping my old man off at Heathrow. I took it really easy on the way back using just a touch of throttle so it didnt miss.
Once home i checked the leads and took the spark plugs out. I found that two of plugs were fucked. The porclean bit was spining round and round and had up and down movement aswell. THey were Desno spark plugs and only a couple of months old. I take it there just shite plugs as the ngk's i used last time were fine for a year .
Anyways i bought some ngk platinums to reaplce the fucked denso's, and all seems fine now and the car seems to run better than ever. Only thing is now everytime i change from first to second at high revs with a quick gear change it pops and flames slightly. Is this something to worry about? How can a change in plugs cause this?? It used to doit if you backed off at high revs in any gear and then nailed it again straight away , and it still does that but it definetly didnt do it on gear change before.
It sounds good though
