Default your biggest problems can be caused by the simplest things..

Been having issues with my brakes not being as they should be, spnogy pedal, no feedback from them i.e just plain awful!

Anyway, heard a weird grinding noise on tuesday night on the car, as no time to look at it, asked a pal down local garage if we could have a look this morning - which we did

Found that the offside hub nut (driveshaft nut - whatever it is) was very very loose and undid it with hand!!!

Tightened this back up with proper torque guidelines, checked over a few other thigns to which I have been doing at home (stripped front end to get manifold off)

The brakes are bloody awesome!!!!!

Locked up fronts too easy and pleased after one years of havin them that I actually have the braking force that AP's should provide

Anyway, just am very pleased at this and thought I'd share it with you all even knowing it ain't going to make the slightest difference to your Saturday!!

I've had this on my cossie - could have been well nasty!

If I were you James, I'd stick a new hub nut on it immediately and make sure you stake it right into the groove on the stub axle... It's not worth the risk of it coming completely off

Neil.

Will defo get some new ones - not worth risk and get em to fit em

We tightened it up and did put in groove of axle - it wasnt already done

All I gotta do now it clean up the oil mess that appears to have come from oil drain on the turbo causing me to loose over 3 litres of oil in 2 months

Get it down garage on the bench for some new shorter studs and nuts - keep coming out

And put it all back together

James i had a hub nut come undone at Bedford and it wore the hub and the hub knuckle. Went to Ford to get new ones and the hub Knuckle is not longer available and the hub is Ł80 odd quid

If you been driving around with a loose hub then theres a chance theres still play in the bearings and will need new hub and knuckle.

Goodluck
