Default Changing dials/clocks PLEASE HELP

i'm in the middle of re-doing my dials in my s2 to make them look better. the standard black faces look horrid as the paint is flaking off, on the numbers and temp gauge

i have removed the clocks, the cover (clear bit), and the 8 or so screws securing the front bit (black) to the back (white) part

it doesnt come apart. its cos the needles are fixed the the front and back casings?

where do i go from here? remove the needles? how, any tips

also is it still possible to get gauge faces from fords, i dont like white dials much, and mine are falling apart

cheers guys

top marks for a speedy response, as i'm on someone elses computer

Take a fork from the kitchen drawer and slide under the needle. Lever the needle of gently and fit white dial. Re-fit needle ensuring you get it back in the right position. IIRC some kits don't require the removal of the needles. I know the ones I did on the XR didn't

When I fitted mine the hole in the middle of the white dials was big enough to slide them on without taking the needles off.
If I remember correctly I just cut the old dials off with a stanley knife.

youve got 2 options really... you can either stick the dials over the old black ones.. they will light up ok. you can do this without removing the needle as the hole in the middle of the dial is big enough to get over without having to remove the needle
OR you could if you can be arsed cut the old black dial away using a knife, the only problem doing this is they are PROPERLY stuck on and trying to remove the glue stuff underneath can be a nightmare.

i just wanna know how to seperate the front and the back cases

so i can get in at the dials, dont mind a bit of hard graft as doint use the car at the moment anyways

anyone fitted white dials, and removed the old black dials from behind

any pics etc

will i be ok if i note where the needles where, on a picture then just pull em off, or is it more trcky than that?
