Default ERST diff replacement - easy enough to do myself?

The diff in my Stage 1 CTS seized (not their fault), and I need to replace it pronto. Is this the kind of thing I could hope to do myself? I've just completed a Zetec Turbo comversion in my Fiesta, but it's all coming apart again now to change the diff! The time and money saving of doing it myself would be very welcome. Any advice, books, sites that could help me, or is it a no-no and should only be tackled by the pro's?

It's an easy job if you have a proper puller for the gear itself of the 5th gear. You never know how hard it sits. Ford has a proper nice tool for this. Twice I have taken a gearbox to the back of my car and driven to Ford and asked the tool for a 1 min loan.
