Default i flocking LOVE visiting breakers yards - amazing bargain

heard rumor that there was a 2wd cossie in my local yard, so went up this morning with a fat wad of notes, only to find it was gone

however, thought i'd have a rummage round and found a 4 spoke RS Leather steering wheel on a motorsport boss (shame that someone had rived the boss against a steering lock ans smashed a bit off it, and i spent 40 mins rummaging more to find the horn-push to no avail and also a 3 door cossie steeringwheel, the leather on each wheel is in excellant condition, the 4spoke metal frame is going to be rubbed down and painted matt black and is then replacing the one on mine as my leather is splitting

also got myself a new electric window switch, a new heated screen switch as the illumination in mine had packed up, some other odds and sods, a box full of relays and fuses all for the tidy sum of

£15

Never get anything like that around here, infact you rarely get old Escorts in scrappys down here these days!

Mate managed to get a round headlamp FORD lettered grill from a mk2 Escort which I wanted a few years ago for a tenner!

I got a mk1 Escort bonnet & grill for £15 a few years ago.
Could've had loads of Mk1 Escort rear lights, mk1&2 van rear lights & Mk1 Cortina rear lenses free when they cleared out their workshop, they ended up ditching the lot of them!!

Managed to get a full set of decent Cavalier SRi Recaros a few years ago for £15 the lot, I walked in & asked them how much for a set of seats & the guy that worked there (A complete donut!) said a fiver a seat, imagine his horror when I walked back up carrying a set of decent condition Recaros, 1 of which still had the badge!!

Back in the 80s the same yard had a complete Mk2 Escort RS1800 in the yard!
Andy Micklewright who used to be Devon & Cornwall rep for the Sporting Escort Owners Club heard about it the day after it had arrived in the yard so made his way to the yard that afternoon only to discover the car on its side completely gutted from where other Escort owners had heard about it & raided it for bits!!

Over here the scrappers are robbing coonts.

Needed a multi connector for the fuel pump wire harness. Fitted to both cossies and other sierras. Scrapper lent me a wire cutter and sent me out looking for one.

Found some and brought them back and asked the price....

£15 each for a plastic connector they otherwise wont sell.

I left them on the counter and since then ive never placed my foot at a scrappers.
