Default Brake Gaskets

Is there a gasket that goes inbetween the brake servo unit and the master cylinder??

ive never seen one, i dont think that side of the servo has any vacum or anything like that so theres no need.

might be wrong, but ive never seen one!

actually....that side DOES have a vacum from the inlet doesnt it.....

dunno mate! gonna go and check mine when i get chance now :blub:

its a definatly maybe

like i said, ive never seen one! best bet is to pop down to fords and get em to have a look on microcat, if there is one, then order it there and then! sorted.

well i cant see why as thats just a rod that pushes the master cylinder forward, its not a sealed item of a y nature

but then dont ask me as im giving up on cars

thats what i thought, but then the vacum feed from the inlet goes into the front end of the servo, and then theres the big fook off diaphragm, then the back end is to atmosphere.....the diaphragm is fixed to the rod.

so when theres vacum in the front and atmospheric in the back, it produces the 'servo' function doesnt it?!

ive never really thought about all this shit, but i supose if theres a leak from the vacum side of the servo then the brakes will be shit and it might not idle properly

but....never seen a gasket!

pop down to fords and see mate, or if anyone sees this whose got microcat, they could be a gent and have a look for us!

wouldnt the rod have a seal/gasket and not the mastercylinder though ????

No, not on my s1 anyway. No vac there or fluid.
