Had one and the quality was really good and got it for a good price. If you let people know the spec that you will be running they should be able to tell you the differences in performance with the different coolers out there rather than personall prefferences.

i am probably wrong and i am sure pro alloy will correct me on this but here goes, as far as i can see all you are paying for with the pro alloy is the styling and quality of finish with the welding etc, my mates have both and i have radtec, the pro alloy stuff is much nicer and has a better quality finish and overall looks a better product, where the radtec is not as nice, looks or finish, but to me , i coulnt give a monkeys, the difference is minimal in performance, as far as i can see the extra 80quid or whatever it is for the pro alloy is for the finish etc, so reallyyou decide of you want the performance and the bling its pro alloy or if you just want the performance get the radtec and save yourself the cash, both worth the money, you decide what you want

the strut brace,
Let me assure you.. it's not a styling issue!
The pipes and tanks are shaped for a very good reason- it aids air flow thus giving a much stronger mid range feel to the car and lower inlet temps to the intercooler due to less resistance.
Many people spend good money on gas flowing, performance exhausts,high-flow air filters etc- but do not consider the flow characteristics of the intercooler.. it's all in the same circuit so surely it requires the same attention to detail and design!
Also the rounded corners and fabricated brackets are designed with strength in mind, this is why more and more of the higher powered cossies are moving over to Pro Alloy coolers.

And they look bling!

ps.. they arent Ł80 extra......wish they were

I had to turn my boost down when i put the pro alloy intercooler on my saff. Kept hitting the boost limiter. I took of my pace one which i thought did an ok job, but no where near as good as the pro alloy one. Their rad is also very good.

Can i have a decent deal on a header tank like spadge please Wayne?

How much of a difference in performance is the pro-alloy one over the radtech as the pro-alloy is more expensive ?

I still aint sorted my cooler so would be interesting to know......

Pro-Alloy all the way, the build quality is top drawer. My mates got a radtech with a 60mm core and personally i think its too much, 50mm seems to work fine.

On the note of header tanks im needed one too,i can see a group buy going on here

I agree about the thickness-we tested with various core thicknesses last summer and in our experience the thicker cores starved the water radiator of sufficent air flow....not so good on those hot summer days!

group buy on tanks........it's a possibility Chris'RS'b are you organising?

well what is the differece as no offence but alot of the car stuff is fashion based too

people swear by products, a few welknown cars get another part adn do some times then rae about it and then everyone follows like sheep

autronic being a good example, people saying get autronic onnthere car as mad rod has it, sunny took his pectel of his car for it

but if it makes all the difference for the power,,,,,,, im not sure

grs was the fasion a while ago, even thought the water temps where hgh people still fitted it and justified it

people followed and then pro alloy comes about and then people follow

radtec do a very good job for alot of people and never heard a prob with one

i got a pace and there shtie BUT its a fooking old design

Its been proven that pro alloy perform better thow hasnt it?? I just think the overall quality is better with pro alloy, ive been checking radtechs out and i think they are good aswell.

My mates 60mm core one just seems to big and must take a bit more filling than a 50mm core.

What do you think

I fitted a Rad tec intercooler but had trouble fitting it as the brackets were too long and at the wrong angle so I had to use a FBH and angled bolts with big washers

Dave.
