yes,, yes they are!
and they are VERY very nice! if youd said tuscan and not 348, then
i would say get the TVR!
looks, performance amazin!
think they are 4.7 V8s.
TVR dont give many BHP figures, i have read a dave walker article
saying TVRs dont very often Actually Make the BHP figures that magazines quote
still amazing cars though.
(not that i've actually driven one that is. lol )

tuscan is 360hp and is a 6 cylinder engine and not a v8 as far as i know, also had major engine issues with early cars
the tuscan S is the one to get 390hp
i think the reason they never make the power stated is due to TVR taking engine dyno figures and owners RR them
have a read

Considered a 4.5 Cerbera myself and was told by 2 leading TVR experts to buy a 2 year old one with at least 15k miles on clock and no more than 2 owners as if someone has put up with the car for that long they should have addressed all the problems the car left the factory with. Talk to a few owners whose rose tinted specs have dulled.
TVR's are pretty cars that sound gorgeous but are piles of shite to own.

Had loads of engine problems in the early days, my TVR dealer (I used to have a 5.0L chimaera) has given up his official dealership and is now independent because the engine problems were such that he ran out of excuses for his customers... They now only deal in V8 TVRs.
As always, early model TVRs tend to suffer from niggles (removable roof flying off at speed in the tuscan for e.g.), later ones tend to have most of these sorted out. You could say early customers were guinea pigs in a way.
With regards to cost, when we had the chimaera, a service was rarely less than Ł1K, but apart from regular servicing she never missed a beat in two years of ownership - that was driven daily too

Most of the figures are exageratted and the cars supplied to press are NOT the same specs as production models, reliability and poor build quality are issues also, i know i was the warrenty department top cars still and very quick, not sure how things have changed since its gone from peter wheelers to russian dudes but big thinks were being spoken of

1st'ly am a great fan of TVR's and would consider buying a T350 or a Tamora however:-
A lass I know's man has a Tuscan S and its on its 3rd engine has spent more time at the factory than in his garage.......if your considering buying 1 look into it very carefully before making a decision.

They are awsome cars to drive and own. They are fast and handle like a dream. The chimera was a pleasure to drive either on country roads or motorways. As frog said, in 2 years we had it, we didn't have a single problem, but then again the car was driven everyday, rain or shine. We didn't buy it from new, it was second hand.
We have a friend who has a Tuscan, one of the earlier ones I think. Great fab car!! Just LOVE it!! He has had some issues with the heat coming from the engine, but I believe that was fixed. Since then... nothing...
Just be warned: If you go and test drive one... you're likely to go home with one!! We did!!

Andy by any chance Phil?!
As said the tuscan S is the one to go for but if u drive it like its supposed 2 be driven as Andy said be prepaired for regualar rebuilds as my mates had 3 in the time he owned it!!! So a warrenty is essential with them if u buy one, but fookin mint cars all the same!!!!!!!!
He had a vid of him doing 180mph+ on a private road in france

I hope the new ownership and the implementation of better quality control comes into effect, as they are seriously good looking cars IMO just a pity there Rep.

Tuscan speed 6's suffer with tappet failure apparently . A friend of mine is in the process of selling his due to the cost of repair. It's only done 11k so sod that for a laugh!

we had a TVR chrimeara (sp). The window wiper motors got stuck on and burnt out, all the dash lights went off but that was about it.
Oh but dont crash em, theyre death traps, as we personally nearly found out
