went out there tonight to have another nose around with the cps
now i never tried to start the car before i fooked around with it,but all i did was wiggle the cps connection
didnt touch nothing down by the pulley end
turnt the key and the fooker started,so i sprayed some wd40 on it,lol
could that have been my problem,dirty/rusty connection?

may well be mate!
16-20 year old electrics that get soaked in water everytime you go thru a
puddle, i guess its very possible!

its probably the wire breaking down. they are known for going brittle with age i would change it before it leaves you stranded somewhere.
