Yeah on the news today!! Even if it doesnt happen atleast its getting it more in the spot light to try and show that cars are a hell of a lot more safe at 70mph than when the limit was introduced!

Cars are better but M-ways are far busier, swings and roundabouts.

Il stick to my 100-110 limit in peak times either way

But the road safty bint said that if the speed limit was increased to 80mph, road deaths would rise by 10%. What a load of bo**ocks!!!

Should defo be increased and also the police should have better powers of enforcing a min limit too, so they could sort out the people who think its safer to do 45mph!!

Whats wrong with a 90 or 100 limit in the middle of the night, why not make country back roads one way so you can give it some beans? Because the govenment would make fook all cash, the pigs would have fook all to do, and the insurance companies would only make 3 billion pounds profit a year

As mentioned above, ill believe it when i see it!!
Atleast, if you get caught doing 100mph, you'll only be 20 over the limit...

education in road awareness, making drivers able to drive according to the road conditions and the abiltiy of their vehicle is needed not just making the cars safer in high speed crashes. The driving test is a joke and not to mention the oaps that do 45mph in the middle lane such as the fooker i was stuck behind yesterday in my van on the M4. Raise the standards of driving aswell as the speed limit oh hang on that'd be us all fooked

Seem slike a good idea, but its only another 10 mph. Not much point seeing as off peak motorway users do that speed and more anyway.

the M40 and the M6 are the best roads ive ever been on

and as for A roads to give it large the A407 is a good road

just the A127 has shute cambers all over it and i dont like the feel after 110 and also 100 is fooking fast for there

actually come to think about it i am getting used to driving it fast as on the way to santapod i was doind over a ton and had to wait for the slow one to keep up

200bhp fiesta turbo doing 70 MILES AN HOUR on the M1

mind after getting all that sitck he did give it large on the way back,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and melted 2 pistons

I was driving before the speed limit, but it made little difference to me. If i got on the M4 at Maidenhead in my A30 & kept my foot in all the way to Chiswick on a good day I could actually reach 70mph on the downhill stretches, Anyway if i had reached 70 it would have taken 5 miles to stop. No i aint joking they were different days.

I invent my own speed limit, usually governed by a complication relationship between the top speed of the car i'm in at the time and the amount of fuel left im the tank

If two of the 3 lanes are empty I will hapilly drive at 140mph on the motorway

Wish mine did bloody 140 - stupid thing is revving its nuts off at 5k at a ton and 6k at about 120...

French cars really aren't designed for straight roads...

I must drive like a fanny or be really tight on fuel As most of the time i do 80mph in the pug or bit less And in the cossie about the same, though all the way home from Santa pod i must have averaged 90mph as i just wanted to get home

Cos that would actually cause accidents

yes, raise the limit to 80mph, not that it will make a bit of difference to anyone, as no one does 70mph anyway.
