Right, this is my 1st post! But I cud see u needed help!
Go to file & then plot style manager, click the create a new plot style wizard. Follow this an u can decide each colours line thickness & colour that it prints out at etc. Then when u print it chose your new plotstyle in the print options list. Hope this makes sense!
Dont think 2000i is compatible with 2006 tho' may be wrong. I know that 2004 created drawings will work back to release 14. altho' this wont help ya

When you do a 'save as' you should be able to select the different file types for most of the old versions of AutoCad. So from your latest version you should be able to save it as a 2000 version.

Select the line you want to make dotted then on the properties toolbar the centre box is linetype you need to click on other to load additional line types (i.e. dotted).
Then select the line you want again and scroll down to the dotted line.
If the line does not appear dotted you may need to adjust the linetype scale. This can either be done by typing 'LTSCALE' at the bottom or in Modify Properties.
