Default **Fuel Protests Are BACK!!**

Just got this from *Anna* via Racey...........

Dont want to panic people and all that, but if you haven't heard the news,
there is the petrol protest starting again and they think it may last til
the election (next 2 weeks), so you may be better to go and fill your car
up the first chance you get, cos apparently they are already queing to get
into services on the m25.

i know you shouldnt panic in these situations as that is exactly what they
want, but i really dont want to be left without a car cos i'm fooked, so i'm going out tonight to fill
the car up.

just thought i'd warn you all
Thru work i have this to add........

Yeah we know all about it here, send this back.........

Purfleet in Essex fuel depot are on strike in support of the Milford Haven fuel site in Wales.

Also rumours are that it won't be long until Shell Haven and Coryton in Essex are also joining in the fuel protest.

It seems to be just HGV's at the moment, but as per normal people will panic and there'll be que's a mile long again!!
Oh dear, here we go again......................

If people used their common sense and didnt buy petrol unless they needed it then there would be no panic buying and shortage.

We have loads of petrol stations round here, as we're in spitting distance of the M1, M25, and A1.

Wasn't so concerned about the petrol, but the queues, and the carnage basically brought the area to a standstill for two days.

Anyway, just off out to stock up

I dont understand why people panic even if there is a shortage.

Need to take the kids to school? Use a bus!
Need to get some shopping? Use a bus!
Need to get to work? Use a bus!

Ok if you live in a rural area with only one bus a week into town take the kids off school and stay at home!

Not the most practical, for some people mate. I gotta commute to uni and fookin public transport is a joke!

Westy totally fookin agree the fuel price is a joke would be so bad if the Gov. Said they would now never increase the fuel tax as in time it would come in line with inflation etc. As i can never see them recducing it as they have come to rely on that money to much!

Bus? You are joking I hope?

Do you realise if I wanted to get to where I used to work by bus, it takes an hour and a half, but by car, 15 mins.

It's the only route the bus goes..........

i think the panic buying is good. we should all spread this news around work and advise everyone to go fill up. tell them the petrol station buy your house has run out already.

panic buying will grind everything to a stop and get more coverage for the protesters.

i'm 100% for these protests, something needs to be done about it.

Default This latest stuff from PA

he protest outside the Shell oil refinery in Stanlow, Cheshire, later appeared to be over.
Around 15 tractors circled a roundabout close to the refinery for three hours yesterday morning, then parked on the roundabout in a peaceful protest.
Organisers from pressure group Farmers For Action tried without success to persuade Shell management and tanker drivers to support their campaign for lower fuel prices.
No blockade was put in place and there was no disruption to fuel supplies.
A number of vehicles remained on the roundabout overnight but they were driven away by 10am today.
David Handley, who organised the protest, said: “It was a successful day for us.
“We made our points peacefully and we sparked a number of protests elsewhere in the country.
“We have managed to put ourselves on the politicians’ agendas, and now we will just have to wait and see what they come up with.”

What people seem to forget is what does Britian actually have to offer economically? Answer - FUCK ALL.

Britain is not the major economic player it used to be. We export hardly anything these days. So theres not much money coming into the country. To keep the standard of living we are all used to tax's on everything has to go up. I could go into detail but I really cant be arsed!

All i'm trying to say is tax's in this country need to go up - because without them we technically have nothing.

I'm not saying I agree for the high prices - far from it - but I do understand why.

What a load of rubbish.

How about expenditure is actually audited? Certain amounts are allocated to a particular sector, but it's not about where the money is spent, but how it is spent. Millions of pounds wasted in government think tanks and quangos.............

We have one of the highest taxes on the overall cost of living in Europe, and the some of the worst services in return.

We don't need to be taxed more - we need the revenue spent properly.

lets not be too drastic just yet mate

as for needing more taxs, why not base em all on income !!!!!!, think that if there was a max amount ya could earn then that would help alot !!!!

taxing single mums the same as the rich aint gonna help

people who need a car for work and then tax em through the nose on fuel, then the road tax, then insurance

sorry but think of the 18 yearold chavs, there the least paid people, they pay the highest in insurance adn so the higher rate of insurance tax, then the road tax and then the fuel, hows that fair as a guy whos 35 payes 200 quid on insurance and tax based on it,

we dont need more taxes, just need less people to sponge meaning tha ta fair rate of pay for all ( min 16k pey year for all) and a max amount for people to earn and after that they loose it to tax, golden hand shakes should be illegal too

sorry but the rich are just gonna get richer and the not so well looked after get spat upon for no reason!!!!!

just like rent on property, its too fooking high, make a max amount to charge people

theres loads of issues that need adressing

lets start of fuel first though yeah

Ginge taxing Rich people is crap to, like what the Lib Dems reckon as every skilled worker etc would fook of and live overseas leaving the UK with a massive skilled shortage imo.

Simple way of lowering tax on fuel. Stop wasting cash on shit. Stop the sponging workshy layabouts. GEt our countries priorities straight. We can't spend money on our own problems yet send millions to other countries

Harsh as sounds to a large degree charity should begin at home. I object to the money sent overseas when we hav eold folks here who can't afford to put 2 bars on the heater to keep warm

yeah but rhys theres too much money they got !!!!, thats wrong, same with house prices, we all love the fact we got our own property, its worth what ever and were soooo proud and pay our money for it and work to live and pay the morgage we are out of our depth paying for !!!!

but whats it really worth as we gotta live somewhere anyway so it may be worth 350k but we aint gonna buy another for 100k are we, so its not a true indication, the only people who earn out of it are the government/banks and the estate agents

we dont get to see any of it

but thats a true point about skilled work though, we need another way at looking at it, maybe a total max money we can earn in the world

im sorry but i hate the whole attiude of some people saying they dont care about how much property cost anymore as they got the house before the boom and there all cosey, thats just a pull the ladder up jack, sod the rest attitude

Agreed with sod the rest attitude as i havent got a house and honestly dont how i can see i can afford a half decent one. Hence why i want to live abroad when i finish my degree.

It hard way to work out tax lots of pros and cons. Hate it when people just say do this when they dont look at the bad effects. Hard choices! lol

oranoco i can understand the works shy layabouts point though !!!!, the wages they can expect from the companys when they get a job that they can suport the familys anyway or end up the same situation but they dont get to see there kids

i recently quit my job due to the shite wages and thought, fook it and see what happens, im gonna look for a job but im at a point in my life where i cant afford to have a job that pays shite money and so im not gonna bother, i still gotta sign on which ive never done before and tbh im holding it off as at the moment i dont actually ahev to but thats just cause im not spending money at the moment

if there was a true minimum wage not that bollox one then peeps might be more inclinded to work harder or look for work !!!

also i got told i could have got benifits to suport my income but not the morgage

now call me stupid but whats the fooking point having a job and still needing benifits to get by in life , wheres that independant

think the whole wage system and the way people are payed is bollox, some people get tooo much money, no if not buts, theres too much for some and not enough for the others

what about taxing people fair, if ya earn so much ya dont pay any tax on certain items and others do

as the poor are not getting a fair deal here !!!!

im not refering to myself as ya know i can get by either way, but there are others worse of than me and i found that my job put me under alot of stress at home, imagine how others less fortunate than me get by
