Default Steering Problems

Last night on my way home from work i was sitting at at set of traffic lights waiting to turn right, i pulled into the middle of the junction when i went to turn right i heard a cluch from the nearside and the went straight and then turned.
i happened again as i was doing a 3 point turn!
anybody had a problem like this or does anyone know what it may be.

I was waiting to turn right at a set of traffic lights,
I went into the middle of the junction
when i could turn i started to turn the wheel and i strated to pull away,
but i heard a clunk from the nearside and though i was turning the wheel the car seemed to be going straight,
then after about a second or two it then turned.
my first thought was the tyre blew and it was the alloy which made the cluck so i stoped to have a look tyre was fine.
yanked on the wheel abit to make sure it wasnt lose, all was fine.
checked all the nuts when i got home all tight.
then this morning same thing happen when turning in the road,
turned the steering wheel to the right as i was pulling away, cluck , steering went funny then all ok.steering doesnt seem no different then normal,
its just worrying me as what it could be, as i dont want the steering to go whilst im driving down the road or approaching a roundabout.

By what you describe i think it might be your cv joint on that side, pull the rubber boot back & check if theres grease in there
