Default Low oil on Series 2 RST

Checked my oil today as my rocker cover gasket has been leaking a while...no oil on dipstick oops! topped it up it took 1.5 litres to get just under the max line,i let it heat up properly and don't thrash it,what damage will it have done? it isn't burning any and everything seems ok,the old gasket was well knackered

The stick shows about 2 litres and to lose that much oil just through the gasket is very unlikly..Sorry.

Prob just valve seals. leave it to idle for a while and then give it a sharp rev if you see blue smoke chances are you need new seals. It aint a bad job anyhow.
